Hi everyone

I've come from a G30 530e (2yrs ownership, 30k miles) and prior to that a F10 520d (6yrs ownership, 230k miles) and now in an i5 touring. Absolutely loving it!

Some observations however

My car is specced as follows

Tech plus, comfort plus, adaptive suspension pro, bowers Wilkins, pan roof, sun protection and sun blinds.

1. The rear doors do not have comfort access - this is a pain in the proverbial as it means I have to unlock the whole car by fondling the front door handle whilst simultaneously trying to carry the baby seat and then hoping it opens the rear door so I can get in. Or I have to use the fob.

2. The knee cubby has disappeared! This was incredibly useful but is now gone

3. Rear doors don't seem to have much by way of ambient lighting (it doesn't carry through on the door card but I think the pockets are illuminated)

4. Yes, there's no seat pockets - pain again but looking into something here as storage is needed for 2 children!

5. The tailgate is very slow to open/close, almost painfully so.

6. I've had 1 check engine light for the high voltage system. BMW assist came out and did a reset, wouldn't tell me what it was but to just carry on driving it. This was at 600 miles on the odometer

7. Infotainment system has frozen on me once so far and meant that the entire thing went through a boot cycle taking a minute or so l, frustrating as I was relying on the sat nav at the time

8. The car is quick! And I mean scarily quick!

9. She's a big heavy old girl but doesn't feel like it when driving which is great

Have done one long-ish road trip which I was nervous about but handled it great. 380ish miles, 2 charge sessions (1 on each leg) of 10ish mins each and I drove it like I normally would. AC on, pedal to the floor.

Overall I'm glad I made the switch, I have it for 2 years and then will chop it in. Just a shame on some of the corners cut for such an expensive car
