I am in the similar situation.
I ordered a car without a keyless (Travel pack, which also includes holes at the front seat for tablets and USB c) because I thought it would be fine to use only a Digital Key and more secure.

However, without keyless option, I lost the ability to use the foot sensor for the tailgate opening. Additionally, it's not possible to upgrade from Parking Assistant Plus to Parking Assistant Professional through the app, which I wanted to do after the purchase. .(also with steering wheel heating, it also impossible to activate in app)..

I have not seen any retrofits on this G60 forum (usually doesn’t happen until cars are second owner or more). Things are different now than in the past, there are no Bentley Guides since E60, and ETK (realoem.com) is no longer updated, TIS was taken down. TIS had system descriptions, repair instructions and wiring diagrams, a big loss. Even the CDROM sets from the past no longer are produced, so there’s no way to get technical information about the cars without an online BMW TIS subscription, and BMW doesn’t seem to want to sell those to individuals without a licensed shop anymore.

You are absolutely right!
In addition problem with coding.
Only one option could be... through the dealer

Seem to be a few sites offering a retrofit for some models but imagine that going to invalidate any warranty. It's nice to have but is the cost/benefit really worth it ?
