Last Friday I picked up my long-awaited 550e from my dealer.

It has just about any option they offer and most notably, 2VW. (Adaptive M suspension with anti-roll stabilization) We've had quite a few discussions about this option here. What can I say, if you are considering to order a new 5er, I'm begging you — get yourself 2VW. I've tested this car without it before, and it's a completely different drive!

Overall, it's a luxury thing for sure. Can't complain about anything so far. The color (Oxide Grey) is phenomenal, no pictures can make it justice. Depending on lighting, it has a touch of gold and violet.

I'm still processing it. In euphoria...

I bought my 550e off the lot so no 2VW option but it has the m sport professional package. Zero complaints about the ride.

Can't be bad for sure! I'm mostly speaking about steep turns. I've had a 6GT before (built on the 7 platform), similar size and weight. So the 6GT was like a boat on speed turns — bulky, heavy, clumsy. A couple of 5ers I tested before the order were much better, so no complaining. But if someone is weighing if it's a good idea to add 2VW to their order, then it's not a question.

Perhaps we should create a topic with this color. When I ordered mine at the end of October 2024, I could barely find some pics with the Oxide Grey color.

I have a 550e delivered last fall. I have 2vv Adaptive suspension pro. It was special order at that time.

I wonder what the difference is between 2vv and 2vw?

Very Beautiful. If not for the Pano roof and the fact it says 550e instead of 540i on the back I could swear I was looking at my car.

Funny that all the people who saw the renderings of my car and did not like the color at the time, now rave about it. They all can't believe it's the same color they saw on the screen. You are correct. There are tones of gold and violet that come out at the right angles. So far I love my car, and the looks I get on a daily basis. People have stopped me in the parking lots and asked to look inside as well. Or give me a thumbs up and a smile or nod as they drive past and look at it.

afaik the main difference is anti-roll stabilization. Take a very steep turn with good speed, a heavy car like this would give you a feeling that it's about to roll over. With ARS the grip stays very firm, the car feels so agile as if it doesn't weight 2t+.

Absolutely! The thing about BMW in general (and this model and color in particular) is these cars look much better in person than on the photos. (Tesla is the opposite, btw) I wonder how many of the people who criticize the new design language just by looking at the photos would change their mind if they bothered to walk into a showroom.

As for the color, when I first saw it, I was stunned. I asked what it was. It was the same Oxide grey that looked meh in Youtube videos. I couldn't believe it. But after seeing it, I wouldn't want the car in any other color. It's magic.

Even my wife when she looked at the online photos said it looked Taupe. Now she sees the light. Lol.

I believe they are pretty much equal as far as Demonic Possession goes. You have more HP, but then, I have a lighter car. You have better fuel economy too. Car and Driver says: "In instrumented testing, the all-wheel drive 530i xDrive hit 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and the 540i xDrive got to 60 mph in a swift 4.0 seconds.
