I'm happy with my new 540i but I'm one of those guys who can always find some things that could improve.

The only two knocks I have with the G60 interior are the hard plastic controls on the door and no leatherette or other special finish for the dashboard. I hope BMW brings over the galvanic (aluminum?) controls for the door. Also a sensatec or the G45's woven textile dashboard would be great. My guess is the woven textile is more likely. I'd love to see the piano black to get replaced but the iX LCI seems to suggest they're all in on the piano black. Designers in auto manufacturing love that stuff.

Finally, I wonder if BMW is going to do something like a M560e. Basically, a detuned M5 powertrain. I imagine it depends on whether they can hit the right price point so it actually has enough value to the customer. I believe the G30 M550i was ~100k when full equipped but started in the low 80s. If they couldn't do something similar then it wouldn't make much sense to bother.

Any other thoughts from people who have had their G60 for more than a month?

A 10 percent more battery would be welcome. Or 800V charging.

Remove all the piano black. Inside (and outside )

Delay the panoramic display of the new i series and whatever they cocked up for a steering wheel.

Make the adaptive suspension standard for those on a budget like myself

2) leather or venganza dash
3) remove hard plastics everywhere.
4) Idrive controller with more thickness the one in the g05 x5 for example
5) massage seats
6) softer arm rests
7) more range
8) iconic sounds that mimic a real exhaust (maybe)

Have to think about it more.

With digital key plus and passive entry I don’t foresee comfort access on other doors returning. I don’t even miss it.

I think #1,7 could/should be accomplished with OTA updates. So wouldn’t have to wait for LCI where the others likely would. My bet is you won’t see massage seats offered in the G60. The take rate was low on the G30 and many of those that had/have it complain they don’t add much and actually make the seat bottoms too hard and less comfortable.

They didn’t get rid of the plastics in the iX LCI. Doubt they will here

Completely agree. No chance they will do that. Personally one of my bigger pet peeves are the rock hard door arm rests and scratchy plastic coin holder (if that’s what it’s called) on the door too. Neither will change.

You have a coin holder in the door? The only one I know of is when you open the console there is a small coin holder.

Lol I figured that terminology would cause confusion that’s why I put the parentheses.
The little pocket in the arm rest. Helps you close the door. It’s made of cheap hard plastic that scratches so easily.

#2 I don't think it's going to be back. not real leather at least. all companies going vegan or other sources. but I get it. used to drive only 7s and all leather everything. can not even get leather apple cover from Apple Store.
#8 well I drove 7s as mentioned for the quiet of it. so EV works for me. but now that the M60 has more up and go just for me yes a nice M8CS sound be nice.

Yup! EV quietness is bliss but having m60 as well - would like the soundtrack to go with it.

Truth! Waiting on 3rd parties to make better quality switchgear that can replace the window switches, indicator and wiper stalks, etc. and better door card materials

Yes, March 2027. So the LCI would run just over 3 years until G60 EOP in June 2030.
