Considering ordering an i5 M60 with specific options. Does anyone know the current estimated delivery time? Are we taking 1-2 months or more like half a year?

I don't know the exact number but if you're building from scratch it's not 1-2 months. I'd plan closer to the 5-6mos and be happy if it comes sooner.

Otherwise find something in nationwide stock and take it. I did that and was in the car in about a month.

Honestly you should be able to find one pretty well spec’d on a dealer lot. There are a lot out there.

I can only tell you what my experience was from the beginning of 2024 for an i5 eDrive40. At that time, there were hardly any around on the lots in my area but I was able to test drive a couple in November/December. I placed my order in early January and took delivery on March 21. So, the process took almost 3 months from order to delivery. Timing may be different depending where you are and current situation. I'd consider 3 months as a minimum, presuming everything goes smoothly and no parts issues, etc.

My experience: I ordered my 2025 i5 M60 last week of July 2024. It arrrived at the port in Germany within the last week and is awaiting a ship. I expect another 2+ months before I get it. That’s gonna be about 8 months from order to delivery.

I ordered end of June. Hopefully, I will get my 540ix by Monday, January 27. (7 months) It sat in QC for 8 weeks. I should have had it in October as build date is 9/5/24

A lot will initially depend on if your dealer has a build allocation. If they don't, you're starting out waiting for one right from the start.

This is exactly my experience. I’m surprised the wait times are as long as many of you have stated. Aside from the IBS issue that delayed so many deliveries it must be due to lack of allocations.

The previous 3 BMWs I custom ordered from my local dealer, a mid sized market and only dealer in the city, I was able to immediately get allocations if I wanted. So order to production in Germany was about 4-6weeks and delivery was 4-6 weeks later. My G30 was ordered early October and delivered mid December. We’ve received our X3’s faster because we’re only 400 miles away from Spartanburg and we got immediate allocations still allowing changes.

I put my deposit down Nov 7, 2024 i5 xDrive M40. It has just finished production and currently at port. About one month longer until I get possession.

Ordered my MY25 540 on June 17th. MY25 Production started later part of August 2024. My vehicle started production on September 9th and completed November 6th, with an 8-week holding period in QC. Picked it up on December 28th, 2024. 194 Days.

Yeah, But I think you were the exception Todd. Or maybe I was. My order to delivery was pretty much as I was told when the order was accepted. Week 36 Production, week 41 delivery. I did not get it til week 42, but that was due to weather, personal travel, etc. Your experience suuuuucked. The graphics were fun to watch though.

I ordered my i5 eDrive 40 on Aug. 27. Today it is in Bremerhaven waiting to be loaded on a ship. Production was completed on Jan. 15.

Very true! The true delivery time probably lies somewhere in between yours, or mine and a3dewe, who is still sadly winding down his week 36 journey.

Yes, and the saga continues…
My 540 has been on California soil for 2 weeks. It is still not at my dealer’s! Been enroute since Thursday on a ”2 - 3 day journey “ to travel 100 miles. 🗯️

I think mine is about standard for EU Delivery (Not counting the 3 week time spent in the Spanish tax and registration process, which is like in the 1970's using paper and couriers/mail service to the different officials) Yours should have technically arrived shortly after I was supposed to take delivery in mid-late Oct, if not for the stupid QC hold. Not sure what's going on with a3dewe's car. Maybe the SoCal wildfires are part of it. Especially of the POA was Port Hueneme.
