2009 Z4

I had a Z4 coupe 3.0si as a loaner while my car was getting serviced. I'm not the type that goes out searching for attention...but damn that car got folks staring and talking. Even had little kids came peeping in as I closed the garage.

Now the question is... would anyone consider trading in their 1 for a 2009 Z4 coupe?

A rendering based on spy photos.

This is why I'm waiting to see how they are going with the Z4, cause if they put the N54TT in (rumors) then I'm sold but if not the 135i here I come.

I love the Z4s, but they're not nearly as comfortable to drive on a day-to-day basis, in my opinion. If I was asked to trade my car for an Z4 M Coupe as a weekend car: yes. For a daily driver: heck no.

I drove one in the breast cancer charity event. It was fun to drive (good road feel), but underpowered and a bit noisy. The rear view was also crap due to the soft top. I wish I had a chance to drive it with the top down (inclimate weather) or with the coupe but I didn't.

I almost went with a z4, but it was just too small. the 1 may have a small back seat, but it is better than nothing.

True. No back seat is a bummer for the z4. But by no means was it slow. Well... with the sports mode off... it was a bit slow. But with sports mode on... it was light and day difference.

I love my 135. I'll probably convince my fiance to get the 2009 z4 coupe and I'll pay half.

N54 in the next Z4 would be a total kick-ass car. Give it the 7er's uprated power, and it would be killer.

Edmunds seems to think the N54 will go in it. Hmmmm . . . : -)

Would be fantastic is they kept it under 3200 lbs. Can you imagine the n54 in a 3000 lb soft-top roadster?

Agreed with the above. I like the Z4, but not as my daily. The 135 is such a great blend of performance, comfort, and practicality. Love it.

I opted for the 1 over the Z4MC, back seat.

Unless the next Z4MC comes with the M3's V8 at a bargain basement price, don't think I could be convinced to take that over the M135

The Z4 will slide up the price scale somewhat from the current model (I have no clue to if it'll be available with a soft top - which could mitigate costs).

BMW is said to be planning an entry-level sports-car model called the Z2, a Miata fighter (at a slightly higher price-point naturally ; -).

The fear of the Z4 M getting a N54 is the EXACT reason I jumped on ordering a '08 Z4 M Coupe. Much perfer the normally aspirated motor with 6 throttle bodies. Equals instant throttle response, fantastic sound, a very linear powerband, and a upper end rush. I could care less about having more than 330 ponies too. That's plenty enough for public roads.

It's unfortunate the Z4 Ms come with crap Continental tires. I have no doubt that with better rubber it would more easily beat out many more expensive rivals. Even with the Contis I've seen tests where it outpaced the Boxster S and Cayman S on closed courses. That's good enough for me...

It won't. I think it's been confirmed that the new Z4 will get the N54, and the M will get the M 4.0 v8 which will be utterly fantastic! Nothing can match the sound of that screaming v-8! :roundel:

(Also, it's "I could NOT care less" )
