11/2024.40 Installed (i5 M60)

07/2024 was a botched upgrade for me. I didn’t get all the features (missing Silent Mode was the giveaway). Dealer updated to 11/2024.40.

I had attempted the anti-dazzle fix via BimmerUtility ahead of installing 07/2024 but it failed. It now appears to be working (blue high beams icon stays on much longer)

I also noticed when the car is stopped, if I reach over to the passenger seat the passenger side dome light turns on then off when I’m done. Pretty neat.

Not sure what else is new as I can’t find release notes.

Sounds cool. You should be able to see the release notes from within the app. Just tap your car on the home screen, then go to the bottom where it shows software upgrade. Once in there, you should see a Highlights button you can tap for notes.

Typically three months after it’s released to dealers at least in the U.S. I’m thinking February.

Dealer won't install an update just by asking for it, you need to be having some sort of issue with the vehicle that warrants getting an update or else they won't get paid by BMW. Of course, any sort of "issue" might qualify - spotty Car Play connections, etc.

Speaking of issues, and ironically enough, about an hour ago I received a text from the T mobile automated system that my “new” eSIM line was ready for use. Sure enough, the systems managed to communicate and create a new line (again).

I did mention in my original post that 07/2024 didn’t fully install and was missing features. The dealer installed 11/2024.

What feature(s) did you notice that weren’t available in the 7.2024 version?

My car was in for the IBS recall and I asked the dealer to update the software to 11/2024 which they agreed to do. It is now ready and I pick it up tomorrow morning. Issue for me was the 07/2024 update disabled the time slot charging which I use. BMW told me, after a call, that the 11/2024 would fix this. Doubt I will see any release notes but will ask at the dealership if they have any.

I suppose they decided not to release them in the app like they did with the last one.

I picked up my car this morning after having the dealer installed 11/2024.40 but it is not going well. None of the in car apps work and when I go to settings to ask for an update of all apps, it tells me "currently not available". I tried rebooting I-drive, signing in and out of the app to no avail. The app was last updated on Wednesday and indicates I have 11/2024.40 version and now tells me all doors, windows and the hood are open!!!

I am still running "The latest software 07.2024.40" and it says up to date. So I guess I will have to wait until the new one comes out.

I might go ahead and schedule an appointment soon. I noticed today that two more phantom esims lines have been created. This brings the total to six, think.

T mobile assured me that they aren’t going to charge me for them, but quite frankly I’m not convinced they’re going to be able to sort these out from my original one from a billing perspective.

I was skeptical like you, but T-Mobile has been taking care of it for the past few bills just fine for me. Hopefully they will do the same for you, especially since it's a known issue for them by now.

I suppose that’s because 11/2024 is not OTA yet. That’s why. I also have 11/2024 installed by a dealer, and the app doesn’t show any highlights.

I'll be curious to see if this update does in fact enable the dazzle option for those waiting for another update. I deselected mine as I wanted to self test some background codes I had found months ago. I noticed (using my Autel scan tool) there have been some stored codes that always came back upon deletion that are now no longer present (LIN issue with the carpet lights on while driving day or night) although this issue still exists. Yesterday I saw a new one related to self-driving which wont erase, d194cb for mpad and not sure if this is related to the current recall for the loose ground in the steering column. My point is, in between the 3ish month updates ota, it seems there are other fixes being sent periodically to address issues we dont see unless you use a scanner or BU frequently. Once i get to the dealer, i'll post the results if any fixes occurred in another thread.
