Hi all - thought I’d see if others are finding that their car status is not refreshing again in myBMW? I started charging my car yesterday afternoon and somehow the app got stuck at that point, and I get occasional “internet connection has been lost” messages. I reset iDrive this morning but no dice. These things seem to happen somewhat intermittently over the last few months, but I am wondering a little if there’s perhaps a telematics issue with my car?

Interestingly, the last time stamp for an update from the car was 2:10pm, yet I got a charging status update from myBMW at 5:20pm, suggesting some sort of communication going on with the car. Odd.

Mine seems to be online. I tested flashing the lights etc.

This happens ALL the time. It's definitely not an issue with your car.

Yeah - I hear you. It’s pretty intermittent with me, but it seems to have gotten a little more common this past month or two. Checking in with the hive-mind never hurts. Will see when my connection gets re-established.

I sometimes kill the app on my phone a few times and that re triggers a connection. A single login and kill doesn’t work.

I’m having a periodic issue with SXM reception in the channel 700s area. I believe that’s internet programming, but I never had an issue in that area with my i4. SXM sent a refresh signal, but I’m still having occasional issues.

My last status update seems to be yesterday around 3pm even if I pull down and refresh the app.

Pulling down and refreshing won’t update the last update date and time. You actually have to send a command to update the date and time because this will trigger a communication between the vehicle and BMW server.

I was able to send a command and successfully update today around 2pm pacific time.

Solved it by eventually deleting the app and resintalling it. Buggy.

So strange. I ended up triggering the remote conditioning about 5 minutes before I needed to run an errand and it updated after that

Similar I trigger some activity and that solves it if killing and restarting the app a few times doesn’t.

For posterity - this time, the app told me I had no internet connection and there seemed to be no way to convince it otherwise, so no sending anything to the car from my phone. The delete/reinstall did the trick.
