i5 M60 - Why no wagon option for 2025?
Now that our i5 M60 is likely to be totalled (see my previous post), I don't understand why a wagon can't be ordered in the electric M60 verision like it is with the M5?
They're all over EU. And there are no EPA certifications needed (it's electric). So why can't we order one (or do an EU delivery)? |

BMW thinks there would be few takers.
Still have to do crash testing etc. and other certifications. i5 M60 Touring would be fabulous. |

I’d be all over a touring/wagon, but alas, not to be for us mortals in the US unless you want to go M5.

But if they're already doing the crash testing for the M5 Touring, why not follow MB's lead and offer it in the M60 version - even as a special order?

IMO BMW is leaving money on the table by not bringing over a "touring" (wagon) 5 series. But they have no 3 series wagons either anymore. They seem to believe that people want SUVs and not wagons.

Well, it's not like the potential wagon buyers are not buying a bmw, otherwise I'm guessing they'd bring the car here.

I think that's the way it has been going in the States for years now. People want SUV's, not wagons. In Europe, people want wagons, because they are more efficient. When Gas and Diesel are running about $8 a gallon here. In the States it's all about Space. You can hardly find any new Sedan's either, unless you are looing at premium brands for the most part. Ford still makes the Focus in Europe. And just about any other sedan or wagon is sold here too. But as far as I know the only non-SUV Ford still sells new in the US is the Mustang. I had an Audi Q3 when I was in London last week, because they did not have the BMW 3 series I had reserved. They called it an "upgrade", but I called it a 'Downgrade" The Audi sucked. No power, and pretty crappy handling IMO. But I am used to my 5er.
