530i Belt Slipping
2024 530i with 4k miles. Hearing the belt slip on remote start of the car is warm. First cold start of the day uses the pinion starter and it doesn’t make the noise, but it uses the starter generator on every start after and that is when the noise occurs.
Not hearing it for auto start/stop. Anyone experience anything similar? Already reached out to dealer. |

The belt was slipping like crazy. Was an hour away from home too.
I'm not sure if this is the tensioner, but didn't risk it. |

That information will make it back to BMW in Germany, guaranteed. They will trace that down to the date/time/shift/employee that was responsible for putting that on.
I had a paint issue on an Acura once, and a 'dime sized' smear under the clear coat. The Regional manager, wanted to see it when it came in for service, and the information went all the way to the factory. They were not happy. The service department needs to go over everything that's adjacent to that, imho. Who knows what ELSE they didn't complete/tighten. |

Next recall incoming
I don't think this is a 1 person kind of fault. You either tighten those screws or not. As the last one is still in place and the other two show marks of being in place at some point in time, I assume the worker did its job. This is probably more an issue with the screw itself (missing loctite?) or with the tool the worker was using.

For what it's worth the dealer and roadside experience has been excellent. It was dropped off after hours Saturday evening and they held an i7 for me to drive while the repairs are being done. Picked it up this morning. Advantage Midtown in Houston.

Update: This is where the experience may start going downhill.
Parts need to be ordered from Germany, and the dealer told me that if it will take awhile to receive parts, I will need to return the i7 and BMW will put me in an Enterprise rental car. Hopefully they give me a comparable car. |
