Nope. Been at the port for almost 8 weeks with zero updates from BMW other than maybe November?

Break recall looks like was done at the port. Now we wait for the spindle recall. As far as I can tell they do not have the steering spindles available as of yet. I am hoping I am wrong. I called BMW customer service to see about availability numbers and I may have well asked my wife..... would have been the same answer.

I laughed out loud at that one. Thanks.

It's funny to me that the potentially involved value is more than double the approximately affected value. what's up with that?

I get the same number. There are 5 models listed, each has their own approximately $x vehicles

I don’t understand. The individual counts add up to 982, which is the total declared at the start of the document.

What I don’t get with this document is that none of the affected models, dates go to September 4th. But then the notice BMW put out to dealers has the date range as up to and including September 4th.

This doc is also on the NHTSA website.

(I’m UK based so am less familiar with NHTSA but Todd also shared it on the main recall thread)

Mine has been at the same VPC since 8/21. I’m told it’s all fixed but waiting to be shipped to the dealer. Maybe this weekend?

Based on that timeline, I guess I'll have to wait another month.

That just means they haven’t fixed it yet. Mine said that until last week.

Any updates on this? I have a 2025 550e that has been at the VPC in Port Jersey for 2 months. My dealer here in Massachusetts can give me no info on when the repairs might be done. In the meanwhile I am extending my current lease month-to-month.

I was able to accept delivery on my I5 M60 on 11/9, but it was at the VPC for 2 months.

This is insanity right here. I'd ask for discounts from the manufacturer.

Thanks for the info. At least there is some movement on the repairs. Maybe I’ll have my new car by Christmas!

My car got delivered on the 15th of November after 2 months held back by the steering spindle UJ recall.

The only benefit for me was here in the UK the cars are held at dealers rather than VPC's. So I just badgered my dealer who had the car sat with them and wanted it gone as much as I wanted it.

My understanding though is that the spindle recall is less organized than IBS from BMW centrally and it is expected the dealers do the recall as part of PDI. (Here in the UK)
