Speed check signal on HUD
Can someone explain to me what the speed check notification on the HUD is actually doing? I assume it’s suppose to alert you that a cop is up ahead, but I’ve never actually seen a cop when this notification goes off. I see this pop up several times per week when driving on the interstate. What gives?

When the cameras can read the signs they'll appear there. Its not a cop warning (unfortunately). I don't think it works with the navigation system and its info as its blank a lot of the time.. But when its set properly that is one of the best huds on the market! Mine is ALWAYS on 👍

The traffic camera subscription is meant to notify you of up and coming speed cameras, red light cameras and sometimes radar traps. I’ve seen it flag some red light cameras for me.
I’m not sure if the speed check is something different - I have the speed limit flash on my screen when I’m exceeding the posted limit - it flashes on and off for a short while as a kind of electronic “tsk, tsk”. |

Speed check is new with the update. I have a lot of speed cameras and traffic light cameras where I live. Those always have come up with a different message. I saw speed check the other day while on the freeway where there are no speed cameras. I took this to be the same as ‘speed check’ when using CarPlay. These are end user reports of police in the area. They are usually gone by the time I get there. Since I don’t see a way to report police in the area on the BMW nav, it might be pulling it from my phone even though I am not actively using Apple Maps.
