Has anyone installed a laser jammer and or a radar detector in their G60?

Yes. I have a Valentine V1 (Gen 2) installed with a Blendmount bracket and mirror tap.

Blendmount for the mirror on a G60? I was under the impression they do not make a blendmount that works for the G60 Mirror stem.

Laser Jammers are interesting to me, but there seems like a lot of work to have a clean stealthy install job.

So are they at Blendmount, Migs. But, I tried the one from my 2021 M550 and it works fine. Tighter than on the M550, but adjust the mirror to where you want it and install.

I'd jump to the R9 system if I got serious about it, but it looks like whatever installer you chose, has to be willing (or able) to do some custom 3D printing installs to make quality mounts that blend with the vehicle's architecture. No idea who the Columbus/Cleveland metro areas that could do that. I hear that Linndale, Ohio is literally the plague ship of speeding tickets in the State, to the point of absurdity. I know it's made the news on a number of occassions. Here are the biggest Ohio offenders. Last edited by ToddRGuy; 10-12-2024 at 02:30 PM.. |

I remember when radar detectors were a ticketable offense in Ohio. I had a first generation Escort from Cincinnati Microwave. Back then, I did a lot of computer programming for the Cincinnati Bengals and was in Ohio a lot. I haven’t bothered with them since moving to the Seattle area. The cops don’t come out in the rain. We have mainly motorcycle cops on the freeway, so it’s only an issue in summer. Plus there are enough people who self report via Waze, Apple, Android.
BTW, I got a police speed check on my BMW nav. I had CarPlay off. Did they finally add that feature? I don’t see a way to report when you see a cop. |

I sell/install them (Radenso, Escort, K40, Uniden) AND have radarguns to test them...did this Lambo Huracan a couple weeks ago.
Just a quick note...Radenso will be launching both their newest windshield unit Theia 2.0 and a whole new custom installed laser system in the next month or so that will crush the competition. I'm waiting for the 1st batch to ship and install it immediately in my g60 and of course will post about it here. I like running the windshield units using usb c with a long cable to go directly into the rear usb ports. Escort just released a Laser system to work with the windshield units. |

That is why Escort came out with the new Laser unit (Front only) its like $1500 and the windshield units are between $500-$800...so $2k-ish for the parts. Install would be only $500 to $1k, so under $3k total, just like they used to cost pre 2020. Average labor prices are $1k to 1.5k per day. 3d scanning, CAD drawing/editing, fitment processes can add a day or more alone.
The new Radenso custom install is supposed to be a 1 wire to the front system(???) which might mean 1 sensor (???) that would save significant time/costs...we'll see. |

When was that? Seriously I don’t ever remember this being the case. I grew up in Cincinnati in the 70’s-80’s and had one of the original Cincinnati Microwave Escorts. Met Jim Jaegers (founder along with Mike Valentine, RIP) back in early 80’s when both would show their cars - Jim’s Ferrari 250 GTO and Mike’s Porsches - at what became the Ault Park Concours (originally at Cincinnati Country Day School). Ohio has always been a police state on the highways it’s no coincidence most radar detector manufacturers started there. I still loathe driving through the state for that reason alone, but now I just set cruise at 10 over and don’t worry. States like Virginia and Vermont would issue tickets for having detectors, especially back in the 80’s. Ask me how I know.

It might have been northern Kentucky where they were illegal. I still consider that Cincinnati even if it’s just over the river.

Most brands do front and rear sensors (360 coverage) and some offer just fronts which will save you money. Laser is a must these days, so figure for product cost only: $2000 for front only system, $3000 for front and rears. $5k is a typical 360 system price installed for most everyday cars (non exotics, no major customization). |
