$2700 for a year subscription ?! They’ve lost their minds. But I guess if you’re running a repair shop it’s part of business operating costs.

My guess is there’s no G60 manuals because no one but the engineers understand how they work 😂

Yes, since bmwtis.com was forced off the air by BMW, many owners have opted for the $30/day option. Shops likewise have been forced to buy the long term subscriptions, and you have to show proof of being a shop to get it.

There’s not a lot of options any more. The Bentley guides stopped at E60, and the bootleg TIS (technical information i.e. repair instructions), ETK (parts) and WDS (wiring) CD/DVDs are a thing of the increasingly distant past.

Modern cars are crazy sewn up anyway. I followed the instructions for replacing spark plugs on the M5 and it was a real pain, even though it was a breeze on the 550i, and both are F10 V8’s built on essentially the same block. The head mechanic at a shop i go to showed me an x5 or x7 with the entire front bumper and grill and cross supports removed (wait for it…) in order to replace the water pump. On the Porsche Taycan, a proper alignment of the front wheels requires removing the front bumper to get access, and then subsequently recalibrating whatever sensors are equipped depending on options, after the bumper is reinstalled.

It does make me pine a bit for the old days, where with my Bentley guide, online TIS and ETK, I could do any kind of repair or modificaion at home on my E36 M3, except for welding which I always contracted out.

Im asking because I read somewhere the electrical section was not 100% covered. Im ok with $30 for a day as long as it is 100% access and I can download. Hoping somebody here has tried it(?) If not, i'll go try to bribe some folks with free lunch at my local stealerships.
