Mobile phone holder options

Hi everyone

What mobile phone holder options are folk using in their g60/61's?

Absence of vents means my usual method won't work!

I reckon I'd just use the charging pad and the Android Auto/Apple CarPlay integration. BMW does a great job with the CarPlay feature implementation. They support a lot of CarPlay features that many other manufacturers don't bother with implementing.

With that said, I’d probably get something like this for my iPhone with MagSafe. https://www.scosche.com/mm-msc-phone...agsafe-charger

Exactly this - I’m not using any phone holders as CarPlay does everything I need.

ProClip have been my go to phone mounts for all of my previous and current cars. They're pretty damn good.

Actually it turns out the absence of vents makes the perfect phone holder!

I just discovered this week that by resting my phone (iPhone Pro/Max) horizontally on the hidden vent lip in the center dash holds my phone perfectly. Didn’t move the whole commute home. Hills, start/stop, freeways, and plenty of potholes and curves….it stayed steady as a rock.

I do have a rubber case on it which helps grip, but the exceptionally smooth ride in my i5 and the hidden vent lip is perfect.

Note that it will fall off if you floor it…but in most moderate driving situations it was perfect. Was able to watch the start of the playoff game all the way home.

I’m a pro clip user too on my previous beemers. I might skip it now.

I have been looking for the latest wireless charger for cup holder. Now they make them with a larger cup holder, since the BMW cup holders are always too small. I will have to make some measurements when the new 5 series is delivered. Anyone use anything like this in a 2024 or 2025 5 series?

The one I showed above in my previous post works very well. It works on both iPhone and Android for fast charging. And can be rotated vertical or horizontal. When you put the phone in it grabs it and locks it in. And when you want to release it there is a button that us instinctive to hit when you are grabbing your phone. The only thing is it came with a USB A to USB C cable. I went and grabbed a spare USB C to USB C and it works perfectly. The base twists to expand into any size cup holder. But you do lose the use of the cup holder.
