A new one even for me....
Used the car 5 minutes before going out for dinner. Then this appeared. Rebooted my phone. Nothing, Tried rebooting the car wouldn't respond. Then just gave up started driving about 3 minutes later the screen went black and stayed off for a while, longer than usual for a reboot but then came back on and then a few minutes later poof apple car play came back on.
Even tried going through the car menu and saw my phone and none of the boxes were checked. Tried to connect them and only phone was checked. Gotta say just when I didn't think it could get any worse it does. My car sucks. No more emotion in it no other way to describe it. The only positive is I'm one more month away from not having it anymore. |

Sounds like you have a lemon. You need to take it in, have these problems looked at, because these service visits and the subsequent non-resolution of the problems is the basis for the “lemon law” refund or replacement. You can try talking to the General Manager about replacing the car if you would like to try another BMW.
See here for starters, then research more on the web about what to do: https://ag.ny.gov/resources/individu...law-fact-sheet |

I got that message once too. I ignored it and just didn't connect my phone via Android Auto for that particular trip. About 2 hours later when I got back into the car for the next trip, everything worked fine (like usual for me) and I haven't gotten that message again.
I'm really sorry your car has given you so much grief, I think that is very unlucky. I suspect if it was a very wide-spread issue many more people would be on these forums complaining too. I hope that whatever you pick for your next vehicle, you have zero issues, to make up for the headaches you have gone through this time. Good luck!

Sorry to hear this. Was it working well previously until an OTA update? Or would a forced OTA cure this?

I had that a while back. I couldn’t even activate Bluetooth as it was grayed out in iDrive. Called the genius line, they listened, did something, made my do a software download, reset iDrive and it’s been fine since.
