The hits just keep on coming. twice after driving with no issues I stopped at a store got back in and Spotify re-started. This time my iPhone speaker was playing music on its speaker while fm was playing in the car. All the while waze was active on the car screen. Couldn't get it to stop. I tried closing and reopening the spotify app. It would not play on the car but waze was on the screen. I had to reboot the phone to pair it again. Before I did went into my truck and it worked correctly.

I've just become resigned to it. My I5 is the 3rd BMW I have had continual Spotify issues with. The BMW app is by far the least reliable, but I have regular issues with Spotify in CarPlay as well. At this point, I just switch over to XM for a while and don't even bother with it. Frustrating, for sure, but our X5 behaves the same way, as did my G30.
