Dynamic handling package....is it really needed?

I’m used to M cars…..DHP isn’t going to make this car handle like a real M car, correct?

No the 550e won't be anything near a true M car. But is about as close as you can get to an M-Performance car. The only way to get any M tuning on the G60 is the i5 M60 or M5. Since I won't go full EV so the next best thing was the 550e with the M packages and I made a special order to get option 2VV for the adaptive suspension and rear steering. Based upon what you have been driving, the 550e may not be what you are used to or want. Test drive it (hard) before deciding.

I am coming from an M-Lite car (M550ix) and realize going to the 550e will definitely be a downgrade in terms of sport sedan attributes and and ergonomics. It is politically incorrect, but I truly don't care about the fuel economy. Hopefully I'll get a test drive a 550e prior to actually taking delivery to make a real-world assessment of the powertrain.

I mean on the i5 M60…..not 550e.

I have it on my i5 M60. Needed? Absolutely not. Am I delighted I have it? You bet.

Since I haven't really been able to drive one with and one without back to back on the same course in the same conditions, I really can't say emphatically that it is better/different. My situation of course is if I didn't get it, I would always be wondering would it be better if I had it, and that stress just wasn't worth it. It was important enough to me to fly to Dallas to pick up my car and drive it back to Atlanta, because it had it (and the right colors as well.)

My experience so far has been tight curved on and off ramps on the interstate, but to say this thing is planted in the curves is an understatement. Feels flat and rock solid!

The DHP was a must for me. In my opinion my car with DHP will drive almost as well as the G90 M5 and based on what I read almost as fast as well.

I am in the same boat. Also waiting to get a test drive. From what I understand, responsiveness when you are in motion is very good. I also opted for 2VV. I have this option in my M550 and it is well worth it.

Following up on this….does DHP raise the car up versus if you don’t have it? I’ve read on older models that the DHP actually made the car sit 10mm higher than if you didn’t have DHP.
