Is that center piece a cover for the radar? Do all G60 have radar?

Yes - you can make it out on all of the models.

No matter how hard I try to like the new grilles, I can't since they all look like an afterthought or broken grilles fixed with black ducttape.

I hate how little of the grille is actually for airflow. +1 it really does look like there are big patches of black duct-tape covering things up. Edit: No, its smooth. That is electrical tape

Cover is always there but only cars with the option actually have the radar behind it.

This seems to be what they are doing on all the models now.

The X7 LCI is the same way….it has the cover no matter what now (whereas you only got the cover in the pre LCI if you actually had the cruise control distance option on your car).

I’m almost wondering if they are going to start equipping all these cars with all available hardware so you can do subscription based services…..

Pretty sure it’s just cause it’s cheaper to not have to produce a radar version and non-radar version of each grille variant. The radar hardware itself is reasonably expensive, compared to a seat heating element or steering wheel heater.
