Recurrent Auto
For those curious about recurrent auto, this is the monthly graph I get. It keeps track of my SOC for the month.

Can you download detailed data?
If you pretend to be a buyer and enter the VIN on the website, is this what you see or is there more information? If more, is the data sanitized (i.e. charging location not included)? |

I don’t think you get any other detail right now. They are a Seattle start up and I expect them to add features as they go along.

Pulling a BMW Car Data report will include charging data in JSON format so you can get extremely detailed data.
It does for my 530e so I'm sure it does for the i5 as well. |

FYI... I got an email today from Recurrent Auto indicating that I have a bunch of new reports. Pretty cool stuff.
https://www.recurrentauto.com/dashboard Here is some of the battery and range info it gives me.

This is all nice and interesting, but as they say, "if it's free, then YOU are the product". I would be concerned what they're doing with this data. And it looks like most of this is already in the BMW App, although maybe not quite as easy to grok.

Interesting - do you get any more insight into how it is determining range? In other words are there battery health metrics that recurrent is pulling, similar to what you can access through EFlow?

Thanks SkykingUSA - it sounds as though recurrent is using some sort of ML approach to impute battery health based upon charging and driving behavior if I’m understanding this correctly.
What I take from EFlow is that I get cell by cell battery health data that gives a different way of measuring battery capacity from data that comes from the BMS that may not be accessible to recurrent. |

I think you are correct. I wish there was an Android app for eFlow - I would use it if there were.

As more people use Recurrent, the data sets will get bigger. It will compare apples to apples. How does my car compare against cars of the same make and model? Not enough i5s for them to do that, yet. They are just hoping to become a CarFax for EVs. Buy a used EV and they will provide the charging history. If I wanted to buy a lease return, I will want to see the charging history. Lots of people just charge to 100% each time. They don’t care, because it is a lease.
