Hi everyone, I've had my i5 for nearly 4 months and I love it to bits. However, I'm getting a very weird issue with the navigation. I apologise now for the long winded explanation.
So the other day I set a destination in my BMW app and sent it to the car for ready for the morning (done this many times before with this car and my previous BMW's). I get in the car and as usual the message pops up with destination received so I click on it and away I go. I arrive at my destination and turn the car off and come back a few hours later. On getting back in the car I set off home without setting the navigation. After a few minutes driving a message appears 'destination received'. It's the same message I had that morning with the destination I had just been to. It now sits on the navigation screen at the top ready to select it. I manage to get rid of it by selecting it then cancelling the route. 15 minutes later I'm still driving and the message appears again 'destination received', it's the same route again ![]() So I got home and started some trial and error fixes: - I restarted the iDrive system. - Deleted all the previous destinations in the iDrive nav system and on the BMW app. - I sent a new destination via the BMW app and drove it to 'complete' the route. Same issue is still occurring after this only the destination is the latest one sent and not the previous. - Logged out of the BMW app (on my phone) and logged back in again. - Changed user profile's on the BMW iDrive. Obviously when I change to a guest user this message does not appear. As soon as I change back to my own profile the 'destination received' message appears straight away. None of these have made a difference. Am I missing something? It's like the system has got itself caught in a glitch and is going round in circles. Basically every time I now get in the car I am greeted with a message telling me destination received and the address of this route it displayed on the search bar on my nav screen mocking me ![]() |

The exact same thing has been happening to me since Thursday! Destination received each and every time.

Same here, and this is coinciding with what I reported in my earlier post re. inconsistent response to climate activation via the app. I'm taking mine in to the dealer tomorrow for a variety of minor problems, and will report back if they have anything to say on this issue.

Thanks both.
At least I’m not alone, potentially a bug in the software. I’ve reported it to BMW Connected Drive to see what they say. I’ve also messed about with it today. I wiped my driver profile and reinstalled it. I then removed the vehicle from my BMW app and reinstalled it. No change, still the same. I’ll report back when I hear from BMW. |

On your BMW app, try going to your "sent" destinations and pull down to refresh. Do the same with "upcoming".
I had this issue and that's how I fixed it. |

Me too. Having exactly the same problem. I deleted all previous destinations and the car keeps notifying me to go to my last destination even though it's been deleted. I even went into the nav settings and unchecked "learning" yet this is still happening. Did the 70 second reboot thing and it's still happening.
Clearly a software glitch. Reassuring to see that many others are experiencing the same thing. Hopefully BMW issues a fix soon. It's annoying as hell. |

I called the Genius line and they told me to check for any app updates. I did and there were none. Then he had me hold down the volume roller for about two minutes until the screen rebooted 3x. It took a while but once this was done the endless nav notifications of my last destination seem to be gone. The engine was on and I was driving while I did that 3x reboot if that matters.
Good luck. |

Fixed
![]() BMW Connect got in touch and asked me to check which version of the app I had. Looks like mine was out of date. There was no update showing so I had to go into the app store (iOS) and force the update. It should be running version 4.7.1. Did the update and restarted the iDrive in the car and all good now, finally. Looks like it's worth checking/forcing updates on the app just in case going forward. |
