Okay, so I don’t know why, but I just thought about this today: Is the Highway assistant and BMW’s eye monitoring technology sensitive to sunglasses?

I wear prescription sunglasses, so I was wondering if that’s a consideration when using it.

I wear sunglasses all the time with no problems at all.

I sometimes have problems with polarized sunglasses. I actually bought a pair of non-polarized Serengeti Drivers that I keep in the car and use only for driving. They also make it easy to view the HUD clearly, since polarization can wipe it out, and their optics are excellent for driving. Only drawback is that they are hideous, but I'm pretty heavily tinted all around so

I did have issues with darker sunglasses, but I have both prescription and non-prescription lighter sunglasses and they work fine. The only issue is it was a bit of trial and error to find the ones that worked.

I did the same thing. All my sunglasses were polarized but none of them let me see the HUD in the car very well. I got a pair of Oakley non-polarized sunglasses and they work perfectly. I can see the HUD with no problem now and I just leave the glasses in the car all the time and just use them when driving. Most times I don't even need them because of the 15% tint on the windows but when the sun is setting, I usually break them out. I've never had any issue with the car not seeing my eyes when using DAP (and I just used it today with the sunglasses on).

It doesn’t like when I sip coffee, drink bottled water, or stroke my chin. Sunglasses are fine.

Are you telling me I need to learn to sip coffee or drink water while starting straight ahead? How long does it give you before it starts complaining that you aren't paying attention?

It doesn't give me long at all when it comes to taking a drink. I also have to keep the steering wheel adjusted slightly higher than I'd like to avoid blocking the camera.
