Last weekend I was looking under the hood of my 520i to check fluids and look at the engine.

I noticed that engine has two injectors per cylinder - one main for high pressure direct injection and second for indirect injection like in the 90's cars.

Probably BMW added it to prevent carbon build up in intake manifold so we will not need to clean it after some mileage.
