A crapshoot when I get in the car as to what screen appears when i get in it. Whether the first time in the morning or multiple times when it is used during the day. For instance I must have use my car today for about 6 trips, local driving where one time the screen showed the home screen, one time I get the warning screen, I then hit ok to get it out of that screen, I got a screen with the phone choice menu was there all my choices where unchanged, CarPlay was checked yet it took a few minutes before it allowed CarPlay to engage.
I ask is this normal does everyone go through this. Because it makes absolutely no sense when I got out of the car and I had FM radio on while Waze was on the screen. Sometimes the way I got out of it was the way it started up again.

I always start with the warning screen. Any chance you activated any of the haptic buttons that would bring up the Home Screen or the media screen by chance?

Sometimes it does take the car a little bit to connect CarPlay, other times it’s pretty much instant

I always get the warning screen then whatever the last screen up was. The only exception to this is when my wife’s key is also present which will bring up the user select screen

Not 5 or 6 times LOL. It happens randomly a few times a week.Today was really something though.

After I hit OK to make the warning screen go away...I can get the last screen used for the last drive (almost always media, satellite presets).....OR I can randomly be shown ambience lighting, app updates, Navi, door lock menu, etc...

This was the case with my iX too and now i7. But my i4, 530e, i3S never did this! The last screen I used was always, 100% what I got upon a new start.

Don't know why iX, i7 and i5 are so messy like this!!!!

A funny thing happened last night, well not funny, funny but strange funny. I think that line is from a movie or maybe Seinfeld. My wife got in the car before me, and I had to run back inside for something, and her phone connected with the car. My phone would not connect with the car although it is the main device. The only way to get control of the car was for her to turn off WIFI and Bluetooth. She doesn't have digital key and I had my keys with me.
Is this normal ?
With all these things happening maybe I should start a Youtube channel and call it Is this normal ?

Pretty sure this is what I get. Is there a setting for starting screen buried somewhere in iDrive?
