arm rest modification
Im 6'1 and not sure about everyone else, but I drive with the seat all the way back and didn't like having my hand rest on top of the controls, so I spent a few hours and quickly changed my rear venting to better accommodate my comfort and is so much better now.

That's a gutsy modification. I'm only 5'11" and don't sit with the seat all the way back. My elbow has never touched that raised part of the center console, so I guess I'm lucky. Your legs and/or arms must be pretty long or you just like to stretch them out because I would have major comfort issues if I had to reach that far forward to the steering wheel and the pedals. Even with just my height, I wish I could pull the wheel a little closer to me but it's already as far out as it will go.
I guess as long as it's comfortable for you, that's the main thing. Glad you figured out how to make it work for you.

We definitely need more details on what you did! I wasn’t sure about this new arm rest design as my arm rests further back too. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to rest my arm very comfortably. However, I’ve mostly come to like resting my elbow up against the lip… other times I wish it was gone. All in all I’m adjusting. I do wish the iDrive controller sat a little further back on the center console though.

I was wondering how you modify the vent. And is that a lease? Does it have to go back cause? You may have to put that back to stock

I did this quick mod to see how i like the comfort and after a week of use Im gonna keep it. The OEM vents were removed and stored so I can put it all back to OEM (but I wont) and i dont lease I own it. The new vent piece,I took a scrap piece of gloss black abs and routed some quick holes to allow air movement, tho i dont ever have passengers. When I get time i'll put more time into a new finished piece. I do custom installs for a living so this work is simple to accomplish if I can ever get free time to do it. This is just a quick mockup to see how it fit for style. Yes I have long arms and legs and even had to remove the under dash cover too (that houses the led and speaker) as my size 14 shoes were hitting it switching from gas to brake pedal. I have some more mods to do like the seats, new black kidney grill and a full custom radar install I hope to get to in a few weeks.
