This is the 2nd winter testing for the M5/M5 touring as all BMW’s go through two summer/winter cycles of testing prior to public release.

How the BMW Sweden test center parking lot looks like (picture taken pre pandemic).

I think if the new M5 weights what they say it’s going to weight, it is going to be an issue!
Not that There is anything BMW can do about it, big battery’s = weight= less C02 on paper, EU happy 😀, enthuastic drivers left unhappy!

Hell no, let them test as much as they need.

This thorough process is why M doesnt have cooling issues like Corvette or huge engine recalls cough -Focus RS- cough, and what other car makers can only *wish* to emulate (Mustang).

Not to mention if they screw this up, the states probably won’t get another speed wagon for a generation or two.

They’re already building it…it will come.

It's always important to keep things in perspective as every model is physically larger than the previous one. The current 3-series is essentially the same size as the E39 5-series. This 5-series is a big car. It's essentially the same size as an early 2000's 7-series.

They have a display angled towards the driver which isn’t pixelated. Obviously measuring some parameters , I’ve frozen the video but can’t make out what the 4 parameters are that are being measured though.
Any ideas?

It will be a great car. But also highlights how good the smaller, lighter M3 Touring already is.
