The pic shows immense body roll and a cone flying, the caption states it fared well. These cars are 1000 lbs too heavy at the moment. This one is over 6000 lbs. correction: over 5000 pounds, 6000 pounds including me and my family and our stuff. But still 1000 pounds too heavy!

Good? 73 km/h? Is this a serious headline?

The G30 did it in 79 km/h and nearly cracked 80--and it didn't even have the 704 M-Sport setup!

Like all EVs, this G60 is a pig.

Like all EVs, this G60 is a pig.

A couple of years back, they redid the asphalt, so the old numbers don't matter much.

that's a heavy car, the video def shows that. But still pretty good for sure given the weight of these cars. Some nice engineering if you ask me.

Like all EVs, this G60 is a pig.

You have to realize in a test like this a Chevy Spark could possibly beat a $250k exotic. Yet on certain tracks, a 5000lb i4 M50 can handily beat a much lighter M240. On the Nurburgring, a 5000lb Taycan Turbo GTS can beat any production BMW ever made. But in everyday driving the EV has superior powerband, instant torque and 3x the efficiency. Most EV drivers never want to own a gas vehicle again.

But in everyday driving, EVs definitely have their advantages with that instant torque and efficiency. It’s important to find the right balance between performance and weight for an optimal driving experience.
Even more impressive regarding those times is that the i4 M50 limits throttle unless the steering wheel is virtually straight.

This video depicts a scenario that 100% of the drivers do not want to experience. So kudos for allowing to audience to see it without incurring the risks.

EVs are heavy vehicles and at some point the current suspension designs will have to be re-examined. If BMW is planning to introduce 4 electric motors in the next M vehicle, why not introduce Magnetic-Ride-Control (BMW name to be determined later ...) shocks in each corner?

Name an exotic that would lose to a Chevy Spark.

The second point is an interesting one. I felt this way after buying a Tesla 3 perf until about 1 year in. It was at that point I really wanted an M3 for the noise, range, real leather, build quality, an enthusiast community, and most of all a manual transmission. But I’m probably in the minority. Most people I know want one EV and one ICE - the latter being for road trips or “fun”.

So, the driver actually had to do the steering and driving?
I expect this thing would just slalom through itself.
Hard pass!!

Yes, I think that's why PHEV are gaining such popularity: best of both worlds and complexity of both worlds.
I would welcome a small battery to take me just 30 miles around town and the ability to still have fun and range of ICE all in the same car.

The Taycan has 1034 horsepower, which it can use effectively on the long straits. The 'Ring is not Hockenheim.

We are talking about handling here. What do you think an M5 CS with 1034 horsepower would do to a 5,000 lbs Taycan in the same scenario?

Let us stick to the laws of physics, laws that can be clearly observed in the slow speed for the G60 in the above test, compared with the G30.

Replace the G30 with something lighter and lower to the ground and get ready for even more laughs.

Yeah I see that. But it'll be like putting Magna Ride on a F150 crew cab weight vehicle. Tires are way different on that pick up too. With that much weight there is no "driving pleasure" just a comfy sedan for quiet mundane drives. One can't escape gravity less we drive it on the moon if we could.

I said a Chevy Spark could "Possibly" beat an exotic. Quite frankly I don't know if they ever tested a Spark, or which exotics were tested. But when you see one of the best results were from a Camry-looking Citroen, its pretty clear that plenty of exotics can be beat by non-exotics.
