I haven’t driven my car 540i, in three days. Getting to my building’s parking lot this morning I put the car in reverse ‘nose out to the lot”, and no camera. I dropped someone at their car after work, put the car in reverse and no camera again.

I pull into the garage at home and usually I see the camera as I closely approach the garage wall. Again no camera.

I wonder if a setting changed, or is this just my car.

I’m about to RTFM. Thoughts anyone? Thanks!

Haven’t had that happen - if you push the parking assistant button are there any menu options that might be useful? I think that’s where the camera cleaning function is, but no idea if there’s a way to turn the camera on and off.

After I dropped of my friend I pulled into an empty parking lot at work and the pressed the Parking Assistant button (after searching for it). Nothing happened.

I’m thinking about going into the car right now and fiddle, but maybe just try in the daylight tomorrow again at one of empty parking lots at work.

I had a quick look just now and couldn’t see anything that suggested a camera reset. Perhaps an iDrive reboot will do the trick?

Thanks Richard! I’ll look at that in the morning. Hopefully it resolves itself

Have you had a recent software update? Other BMWs and especially the Jaguar I-Pace would lose cameras for a little while post software update. Hard to believe, but it happened to me 2x.

I thought about that too. I need to go downstairs to check the version. I did request an update yesterday.

The cameras worked just fine today.

I’ll follow-up here after dinner.

This happened to me once about 10 days ago. All cameras stopped showing. Idrive reboot solved the issue for me.
