My BMW App/Calendar Synch & iOS 17.4
Ever since updating to iOS 17.4, I stopped automatically seeing my next destination as an option to click right on the nav screen.
Calendar was still syncing within the app itself, but when I would go to future events it was all screwy--showing address only (not the name of the event as before) and in on instance one of them just repeating over and over. I tried as a trouble shooting measure toggling the calendar access for My BMW on my phone off....except when I tried to turn it back on, there was no more option for calendar access in iOS settings for the app. The My BMW app prompts me to allow calendar sync and takes me to the privacy settings, but there is no option for calendar. Anyone else seeing this? I'd like to avoid having to delete the My BMW app and set up the keys again.... |

I am on iOS 17.4 and I can see the privacy setting for calendars, including the authorization I gave to the MyBMW app. However, I have not connected the phone to the car yet. Have you tried restarting your phone? Cliche, but it works more often than I care to admit.

Yes--I've rebooted the phone countless times. No dice.

That’s no fun; I sympathize.
Out of curiosity, if that’s ok, does sending map directions from the app to the car work? What about CarPlay? If everything else works, then the culprit could be just the calendar sync framework, which might be hard to reset. And I don’t know if a reset of the car’s iDrive would make any difference but I’d try it before deleting and reinstalling the app. That’s all I can think of, I’m afraid. Good luck and if possible please post what solved it - it’s going to be very valuable for others, a small consolation perhaps. |

Yes. That all works. I am waiting for either an app update or iOS update to see if it fixes it. Other apps are still able to alter and restore their calendar permissions on the phone.

App update released today allowed me to re-enable the calendar.
Deutsch, in the app, select the map icon on the bottom, select upcoming and allow permission for the app to access your calendar. |
