First electric car I5 M60 Brooklyn Gray/940M

Interior is Merino Black/Carbon Bronze

I haven't even seen the car but where I live (Hong Kong) they are removing a huge electric subsidy from 1 April 24 for cars over a certain price which includes iX and i5 M60 etc (cheaper cars still qualify but they are also limiting the amount) so it seems the revised subsidy is designed to apply to cars in the i4 and model 3 and below price range cars (which includes most chinese cars ofc). So i jumpted at one of the few remaing stock cars to try electric at the reduced rate. Quite nervous about it.

I was debating between an iX and an XM and almost got the XM until I realized it was running old idrive8 not 85 with the ghastly climate controls. When they announced the new subsidy scheme I jumped on the chance on this car since its faster than all of them and the price would basically go up by 30k usd in a few weeks. My cost currently will be 144k with basically a fully optioned car. HK has about a 130 pc car tax (before electric subsidy) incase anyone is wondering.

Should get the car around April 1. Got it without driving. Coming from a long list of BMWs (e36 e45 e90 f10 several x5s and x7). Current daily is my beloved Porsche 992 C2S. Kids are getting older and don't like sitting in the back of the 911 for school runs lol. Once I get this, I can change the C2S to a GT3 in a year or so.

I’m sure you’re gonna be happy with it, but it isn’t faster than all of them. The iX M60 is 0.1 seconds faster 0 to 60mph based on the BMW US website or equal to the i5 M60 based on the BMW HK website (0 to 100kmh).

How weird because it’s on the BMW Hong Kong website. There’s no iX M50, but there’s an eDrive40 (not in the U.S.) and an eDrive50.

Nice that you get subsidies. In the US it is for cheaper cars only and people with lower incomes.

If you lease, you qualify anyway regardless of price, income, US vs foreign construction, etc. assuming the manufacturer passes the subsidy through to the consumer as a lease credit. Definitely makes leasing an EV the way to go.
