Highway drive assist pro eye visibility
I drove my car home from the dealer yesterday and I was wearing a hat and sunglasses. If I had the sunglasses on the highway drive assist wouldn’t go hands free. In retrospect I wonder if the hat and sunglasses combo was the problem. Has anyone else had this issue? The sunglasses as non-polarized and medium tint.

Great car choice. Looks like we are twins!!! I told myself I would NEVER own a black car again, but here I am in a Black Sapphire M60.
Some sunglasses do this, and it was almost daily in my iX (and happens semi regularly in our XM). NEVER drive w/o sunglasses during the day, and so far since 12/30/23....my i5 has never done what the iX did all the time (and you experienced). |

Your car looks really good.
I wear sunglasses (non-polarized), no issues in G60, but G30 did not like the same sunglasses. Side note, that system only worked up to 40mph in G30.

Yup. Same issue. One pair of sunglasses won't work, my other ones do. Its a bit frustrating for sure.

Ray Bans (non polarized) work the best for me. Maui Jim would not work at all. Oakley is hit and miss.

I have a theory... Looking to see if it pans out.
My 2 sunglasses that have glass lenses, non polarized do not work for the level 2+. My prescription sunglasses that are not glass with only a slightly lighter tint work fine. What say you? Does glass or non-glass lenses make a difference? |
