What I don't understand
So the driving range of the i50 M60i —which my build just went into production 3 days ago; humblebrag — is one of the biggest knocks on it, and that it’s expemsive… but the Taycan is universally praised across the board as an exceptionally luxury EV when every trim of the Taycan is worse is range and price?

Good question, I noticed this too. I think it’s all about reference point - the i7 has a larger battery and range, similarly the Lucid Air is more efficient and gets better range etc. If you compare the i5 to either of those, you might feel short-changed.
Honestly, it’s ended up not being an issue for me whatsoever and I’m exceeding the BMW stated range in my M60. Any way I analyze it, I get 265-275miles with 20” wheels - stated range 248miles - and this is Dec to Feb before temperatures increased which should bump the range even more. |

I am getting really excellent real world driving range in my i5 M60! Most 100% charges are 270+ miles, and I had two full charges with 301+ miles.

I should note, my numbers are what I consider “real world” range - I’ve had a few times where my car was suggesting I’d have 300+mile range

I am extra liberal with the right foot in my i5M60 but still doing 220+ at 80% charge. I am trying my best to tame the right foot but it is proving to be very difficult in this car Thankfully I can charge for free 5 minutes from my house.

How has your range proven to be @ 80% SOC in the coldest days of winter? I didn't buy the i5 M60 primarily for the battery capacity and range. Just wondering since you're in the northeast, how this is comparing to my i7 x60 range. |

CaboM4 I would say that for the times I had the wife with me for longer trips on the weekend my range was around 235 miles at 80%. That was at temperatures hovering right around 32F. Driving through about 2 inches of snow did lower my average miles per KWH for one trip I made out to the Hamptons for dinner. My wife has mastered controlling my right foot . She will not go anywhere with me if I do not promise to drive like a normal person.

From my charging session at the office today. Implied range is 305 to 310 miles. I don’t necessarily believe that, but that’s what the numbers say.

Thanks for the info on the range ... this is promising.
As for this ... my wife has learned to stop trying However, she complains less since I gave her the iX M60 and moved into the i7. She understands better now Also surprising, since she drove my F85 as a DD for 18 months |

Mine is 80% 201 miles of range, but it’s about 45 degrees out. So, about the 248 that I am supposed to get with 20” wheels. It’s going to get below freezing again this weekend. I’m anxious to see how she does in warmer weather. But, I will have to wait until June to find out.

I don't think it's universally praised....the consensus is, yeah, it's probably one of the best luxury electric cars out....but the crappy range and tech seems to be universally mentioned, as well.

I'm outside Philadelphia, and for the 3 months I've had my car in relatively cold weather, with a 90% charge I'm seeing about 215 miles of range with heated seat and heated steering wheel on.

I drive an eDrive 40 and usually exceed BMW published range. With some data to back it up:
Yellow line is calculated max range and green line is actual range. Yellow line = Green line / Battery percentage |

Yes, I use it through Home Assistant ConnectedDrive API. The integration polls every 10 minutes so I have pretty near-realtime data.
Then I used Grafana with InfluxDB to host those statistics. |

I’m also in the Philly area and this is after 70 mile highway drive from 100% this morning with temps in the high 30’s-low 40’s. I’m very excited to see what kind of returns I get in spring and summer.
