I personally think it looks much better as a wagon.

It's almost like it was designed as a wagon first.

Strong E61 vibes, especially the front half of the car. I like the sedan a lot, I might like the touring a little more.

The first photo that was taken with a wide angel lens does not help its proportions 😂

Looks great in the other photos!!

I’m digging it. Excited to see how it’ll be as an M car. Please BMW, just give it wider hips like the M3 and we’ll all be happy. Just.. pretty please.

I guess not.

I know the 5 series is supposed to be the executive, restrained, matured car of the bunch.. but I really wished BMW would just give it some wider hips and some flare like they did the G80 and even the G87. It’d look so menacing with wider hips and an aggressive stance, but BMW want to protect the M5 identity I suppose.

trust me, like all the wagons before that never made it here, I would be first to push something I could!!

I do know though first hand NA is all over this forum so they do see us! but the problem is the forum although big is a very small pool of the demographic so the demand still must not be there for them to push but who knows!

Look at the picture again. The "hips" have been widened. Look closely behind the back doors.

Absolutely this, just works better and works with the height increase.

Thanks for the quick reply. I even sent a note to the BMW NA CEO about it. Got no response, of course. I have a G30 540i and love it. But need a wagon for our winter home, and the G99 or an X5/X7 are not going to cut it. If they fail us, I will be looking closely at the A6 Avant or the E450 wagon.

Love the color!

Kind of think the hood is way too long < ducks >. Unnecessary in an EV (I get it’s shared).

Wish I came to the US as an EV.

And not an inch wider (bc that won’t fit in my driveway).

yea we just have to assume that it must not make sense for them to do so otherwise they would. but optimism has served me well in th past

This. The way the headlights sit low, recessed, and wrapped does not work on the Sedan at all. On the wagon it looks sleek. Same with the taillights.

Looks awesome, but seems they have removed the opening back glass..? That’s been one of the best features on the estates for well over 20 years at this point.

Just makes you wonder if this was simply value engineering and if else has gone the same way… Will be good to see a few reviews…

It’s an odd thing to leave out - I used the opening back glass on my 328i wagon all the time. It was nice to be able to use the storage for smaller items without needing to open the whole tailgate.
