Receiver Audio Module (RAM) Stop Sale
My i5 eDrive40 is currently at the Galveston Port VPC but when I called BMW Genius they said that there was a stop sale due to a Receiver Audio Module issue and that a remedy is not yet available (don't know if that means that the part is not in stock or if the fix has not been issued yet). Just trying to understand the timeline of similar issues with other people. Does anyone have any information regarding the following?
1. Is this an issue which can be fixed later by signing a waiver or needs to be fixed at the VPC before being dispatched? 2. If not, what was usual wait time to get a fix for other people with RAM issues? Note: On other threads, it seems like a software fix for this was issued but I was informed that a remedy is not yet available, so still confused. Last edited by shail2000; 01-31-2024 at 02:29 PM.. |

My car had an RAM stop sale on it as well. Within a week of arriving at port it was resolved... just a software update. Hopefully it's the same thing your car is waiting for.
If you put your VIN in here: https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/ the code that was solved by a software update for me was: 0065470400 |

I am also seeing recalls relating to External Artificial Sound Generator. Is this the same as RAM or something else? Because on the BMW Recall Management website, it shows this for me.

Ditto with my car. Software update was competed even before my car shipped to the dealer. I say call your SA and tell him to get stuffed

My car was stuck in Oxnard for 2 weeks waiting for the External Artificial Sound Generator fix. The day they fixed it the Coolant Changeover Valve issue popped up. But I agreed to sign the waiver on that one so the car finally got shipped to the dealer.

That one is fixed by the OTA software update, but not sure if that’s the same as the issue the OP describes. If there’s not a fix for the RAM then it sounds like a different thing.

People who faced a similar issue all stated that there was a software fix for RAM but every time I call BMW Genius, they are still saying that a remedy is not available and hence the car is stuck at the VPC.
