Lightbulb New 5 Spotted in The Wild

Well... IMO, it is very generic looking. Especially from the rear and side profile.
Almost LEXUSish. However... I'm sure the M treatment, right color and a nice set of shoes will certainly help.

Thoughts...

I do like how they made the shark fin lower profile.

I also like it, but wheels make all the difference and these are the worst I've seen for this car.

This is my M60 from a similar angle - there doesn’t seem to be the same rear diffuser that are standard on the i5’s.

I’ve still only seen 1 other 5 in the wild since I picked up my car at Thanksgiving

This looks awesome. And totally different to the OP’s pic (and nothing wrong with that) BUT….. in MSport and Plus spec with tinted rear lights, rear diffuser, spoiler (amongst other things- lowered suspension, black accents etc etc)…..and as previous post said….different wheels.

The wild i5 has New York plates. Smartest move is the 19 inch rims!

Yup. That's what I'm getting. I seem to be in the minority here, but I find those 933 rims to be extremely elegant and attractive. Some of the other rim options seem far too blingy to me.

But, of course, so much of this is subjective.

I finally saw a i5 M60 earlier today on the roads. From a distance, the DRL pattern made it look like a Kia(?) but once it got closer I realized it was an i5. It looked somewhat imposing with the wide grilles in the rearview mirror but man did it look generic. Side note, I also really don't like the new fading LED turn signals BMW is incorporating in pretty much all their new cars. Just makes the blinkers look like bulbs of old lol

The first time I saw the odd new fading, slow blinking rear turn signals was on the new i7/7 Series. Then our XM came with them, and now my i5 has them. They look VERY odd and yes, like old bulbs

I'd love to know what BMW was thinking! No other car maker does this, and this is a good thing!!!!

What color was it, maybe it was mine!!! And it looks nothing like a Kia, my wife has one so can compare.

Please post comparison pics on the Kia versus i5…. as I’ve got no idea what you mean….does Kia have a lighted grill too? And which Kia, as there are many….🤷🏼*♂️

It was a darker color IIRC. Not sure on the exact color as the weather was rather overcast and dull. If you live in Ottawa, I saw the car on Renaud Rd. a few days ago. I was in my E90 at the time!

The reason I said Kia is because the DRLs from the distance looked like a Kia Forte and hence why I didn't pay much attention to it. It was only when the car got closer I noticed the wide grill and got happy lol

Definitely not a hater! It's highly likely I'll be getting a G90 M5 down the road so I'm keeping my eyes open

Might have been me, it is black sapphire metallic. I had an 550i a few years ago but am thoroughly enjoying the M60.

I know some have said the G60 looks better in non M sport body. But for me the M-Sport treatment and larger wheels makes it look better. The 19” wheels work fine- I like the 935M’s - but I do think the 20” wheels are more right-sized to the car.

I've seen several out and about now, I think it looks fantastic. It is a color/trim sensitive car, but that's fine by me. I loved the E60 and to me this car has a lot of E60 cues. I'm really looking forward to seeing the M5.

The new BMW chassis always takes a while to grow on me. I remember hating the G8x M3/M4, and now I think it looks fantastic.

So I will wait a few months to a year before I decide on the changes.

It's radical. M-B took the safe route with the W214. Nothing wrong with that but I think the G60 will age better.
