Unable to use Gesture Control to Add Sport Mode

So I've been playing around with gesture control.... And I'm able to add one of the two gestures to shortcut to "ambient lighting".

However, I'm not able to use the other gesture to short cut to "sport mode". I know someone if you have been able to do so. How are you doing it? When I long press on "sport" like in the picture, I don't have the option to add it as a gesture control.

Also, I just had a system update so no idea whether it's related to that...

Thanks!

It looks like you might be pressing on "Switch Mode" instead of the "Sport" tile itself? Just a guess but I don't have the car myself yet so not 100% sure of the visual process flow.

I also can NOT use gesture control for Sport...I can add to shortcuts only. I have 505 set to HUD and 2 finger pointing to park cams, although i'd like to change that b/c the park cameras have a button near the idrive wheel. I would program one of the Gesture controls to Sport, but cannot.

Maybe it's because you've already got the two available gestures assigned to something else? I'd wager you need to remove the existing mapping to Park Cams to make the gesture available elsewhere.

So I played with it more today, and I can assign a gesture to "switch modes" (essentially the same function as pushing "my modes", but I can't necessarily assign directly to go to sport mode.

I've been using voice commands for sport modes and that seems to work.

I tried that too, I deleted one of the shortcuts still no go... If your 8 shortcuts (pulldown) are full and u add gesture or shortcuts it prompted me to delete something. For some reason I a can't add true Sports mode to gesture

I have efficient mode for the 2 finger gesture and relax as the 505 gesture. Will have a go at adding sport mode when I get the chance and update here.

I may be missing something but I went to custome gesture control and all I see as options are turn the screen off and one other that I can’t quite remember.

I don’t see the option to add sport mode or anything else.

Ideally I’d want one for parking cameras and sport mode.

Yes, I had the same problem as well. To add a function to gesture control, you have to "long press" on thar particular card to see whether it can be added as a gesture control option. There's a video in the forums showing how to do this.

I see I can add the personal mode. Was hoping to be able to at the Sport mode. Doesn’t appear that can be down with gesture control🤷🏻‍♂️

I also can not add sport mode to gesture control. I can add efficiency mode with no problem, but it seems BMW doesn't want to us to do the same for sport mode.

So maybe we need to do the opposite? Have the car default start in "sport mode" and then set a gesture for personal mode?

I just voice command to engage sport mode - that seems to work.

Starting with sport as the default mode is not possible.
