i5 E40 : highway high speed lack of servo stearing
Hi,
Last weekend I was driving my 2 months old i5 E40 on the highway at 125 km/h. When driving without "driving assistance" the stearing was feeling quite heavy, more like drive a truck. The force needed is quite high, the response rather slow. So in essence, I could not drive 'straight' ahead. Very weird. With "Driving Assistance" everything is smooth. More stearing help of servo. I seemd to be the only one ... What is your experience ? Tnx. Marc Last edited by MaVaGe; 01-22-2024 at 08:33 AM.. |

Change modes and see if there is a difference. The car has speed sensitive servo assisted steering
If it is indeed the same in all modes then a stop at dealership is definitely recommended.

Thanks, agree! I already tried sportsmode, but felt no difference.
I contacted my dealer. Was the first time heard this. I made an appointment within 1 month. They will check the car and I get another 'basic' i5 to see if there is a difference. |

I'm not sure, but I suspect a wheel alignment issue. Not noticeable with driving assistance active. But when slowing down, the steering wheel feels more heavy than while accelerating.
Any thoughts please ? Tnx. Marc |
