Clearly a noob since the synthetic sounds are still enabled. I had that crap disabled before the drive home in my iX M60.

I certainly don’t hear them now on my XM Label. 😂😂😂

A lot of my friends/family are professional musicians, teachers and professors... sometimes I think it's just nuts that their instruments cost more than $50k, $100k and even $230,000.(for a brand-new violin that one of them just purchased last year)

I wonder how many miles or kilometers the battery can last if the driver keeps the cruise control at a very reasonable speed 130mph on der Autobhan?

according to an old thread, the BMW i4 only had a max range of about 90 miles when doing 130mph. surely the i5 can travel much farther than that, right?

FYI...Autobahn is feminine (die). Die Autobahn.
Der is masculine.

That’s awesome! This is my baby at home. It’s a very special Steinway. Most Steinways in the US are from the New York factory, but the ones made in Hamburg are my favorites. This is one of the Hamburg ones. Guess I just prefer German engineering across the board!

What kind of violin? I perform with a lot of prominent violinists and their instruments are upwards of several millions of dollars. We are talking the Stradivari and Guarneri violins though.

like what I said in another thread about BMWs made in Germany....

Steinway pianos made in Germany are much better than Steinway pianos made in New York. Period.

was that carpet purchased from Tuesday Morning?

We’re going off-topic, but I currently have a 1961 Gibson ES-345 for sale on Reverb right now for about that amount. No vintage guitar from 1975 is worth 45K+, but that certainly doesn’t stop vendors from asking. Especially for a non-Fender, Gibson, or Martin.

There’s a meaning behind the virtual guitars name, but it’s not important in regards to this forum.

This is what happens when we are waiting for our cars to arrive.

Not the most expensive but got the son a Custom Yamaha Alto Saxophone when he reached level 5 NYSMA. $5000 is a nice present for a high schooler.

My dad is a well-known collector, so I grew up with it. Some of these Les Paul’s go for 500k+. I just bought a left-handed 1958 Gibson ES-335 for about half of what my XM Label cost me. The guitar market is crazy right now.

Well I guess I won't pay much attention when someone else blurts out that teachers are underpaid.

Cruising at 130mph would avrage somewhere in the 30-40kwh/100km/60miles depending on how much you accelerate and decelerate in traffic. 35kwh/100km/60miles is a pretty good avrage to get an idea of how to calculate it. You would be doing about 200km or 120miles on 70% battery spent considering the battery being 80kwh give or take.

Problem with doing a long trip like this with several charging stops is that the car will throttle charging after 5-6 stops. But my conclusion is that BMW is probably doing us a favor by not letting us destroy the batterys long therm health.

ICE cars are better for long trips at autobahn speeds. But you can travel 1000km /600milesn 5hours+4 20min charging stops. Thats 1hour20min more than in an ICE car.

Great video. Incredible acceleration - as it should be with 2 electric motors.

PS. With a hope of returning this thread to the primary topic: please shoot Part II in 8K resolution with the same vehicle towing a Steinway piano while playing synthesized Akrapovic exhaust sound (licensed of course) playing through the speakers.

sooner or later, some i5 M60 owner will probably install a couple of exhaust sound generator under the car. Plenty of Tesla drivers in my area have them. Apparently they can select different exhaust sounds from Ferrari, Mustang and others via a remote.

do EV charging stations in Germany have roofs to shield the drivers from the rain?

one reason that I stayed away from EVs for now was the rain. I sometimes rent Teslas in other cities. Not too long ago, I had no choice but to get out of the car to connect to the Supercharger. The rain and wind were so strong, even my umbrella flew away.(while I was trying to connect with the other hand) I did it as quickly as I could, but I was completely soaked. When I got back into the car, I was afraid of getting electrocuted.(unfounded fear, hopefully)

Roughly similar figures to the G30 M550i. Slower in some areas and faster in others. Definitely looks quicker 100-200.
