Does this work with your phones when you have a case on them?

Virtually no one I know uses their phones without a case, so for this to really have any utility, it would need work on phones with a case.

I have a Samsung S21 Ultra so I'd be particularly interested in feedback from Android users.

Any feedback, however, would be appreciated.

Yes - I have a Speck case on my iPhone 13Pro and it charges without issue

Yes, like RichardinCA, I have my iPhone in a case and it charges just fine. In fact, it's more reliable than the wireless charger on the i7, which continually displays a message about low power charging and succeeds only in getting the phone really hot without charging much. I've been really impressed and happy with the i5's charger so far.

I use an iPhone 15 Pro Max. I use a Spigen brand case. It charges without any problems, but it gets a little hot when CarPlay is active.

I used a quad lock case with my phone and no issues with wireless charging.

iPhone 14 Pro Max with Apple mag case. Works perfectly.
(and a little message pops up,: "phone in charger, do not place other items there." Or something like that). That message lets you know it is seated properly and no need to worry.

not a problem for cases.
your problem is, s21 ultra is too big to fit into the wireless charging tray.
i got a s23 ultra, it's too big, too.

i5 splits the mobile tray into 2. and it limits the width of the phone.
i'm looking for alternative now.

that's a stupid design. how could a premium phone too big for a premium car?

I have an iPhone Pro Max which is their largest. With a case, it doesn’t quite fit but makes enough contact that it still charges with zero issues.

It’s still an odd design with charging on one side. I would have made that center divider movable for phone size.

right. that could be simply fixed by scrape off the divider. i believe it's just hard rubber. but hard to do it by ourself.

hope bmw could provide updated parts to replace the original rubber pad.

Excellent point. As someone who uses a large phone that probably won't fit in the allotted space that would be a big plus. Are you listening BMW?

Another 3d printer project for me. I design and print as a hobby. Will see about making a phone tray without a divider or a bigger on the driver side version with Soft rubber material. Will post files when I am done for anyone to download and print.

The tray does not appear to be removable. I will take a closer look this weekend at what I can figure out for those of us who will need a modification.

I have a high quality speck case and Snap mag safe stand attached. was amazed that my iphone 15 pro max charged no prob

After taking a deeper look at the phone tray it will be difficult to make any adjustments to the divider without actually trying to cut it out. Not something I would recommend at all. I am still actively pursuing an option for those of us with larger phones.

Found a solution for my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to make it fit in the charging tray. I purchased a case from Spigen, the ZeroOne and removed the rubber covering the side buttons so the phone buttons are actually sunken in. This allows me to place my phone with a case in the charging tray nice and snug and prevents the buttons from being depressed in the process.

But doesn't that make it difficult to press the side buttons on the phone?

It is a little harder but I just tap twice on the screen to lock and unlock my phone and the volume is done by the car when listening to music.
