Negotiating Price for z4
Hello all, some of you like me are just getting tired of waiting for the 135 to come out and have began a search for other vehicles to suffice. I have become interested in a z4 coupe 3.0si because I like the styling and feel the performance will be enough to satisfy me. A dealer has had one sitting on there lot now for at least 4 months and not been able to move it. The likely reason they can't is because its got every option including performance composite wheels (no nav though) and it is msrp'ing at 52000, which is close to a m coupe.
The dealer has asked me if they could get it within the range that I was looking at would I be interested. I told them I would, and we could discuss some numbers after thanksgiving. I know there is 7500 dollar incentives right now for these, so what should I go for as a buying price. I will probably lease in the end but what price should I aspire to get to with the car. My cut off is 40 because I just can't justify spending more than that, but I would like to get the best deal possible what is reasonable? I would love input from all, but especially dealers/ex-dealers.

I think if your cutoff is 40 and the msrp is 52 you are already looking at 30% off list. I don't think you need to sweat getting a much better deal than that. If they go 40 you are there.

your asking below cost...so i cant see it.. im sure he wants to move it but if you wanted to steal it then i would suggest (and this is still too cheap imo) about $41K if you stick to this number you may get some where.. (im a dealer) if they offer you less then that then jump on it..

Just offered 35280 for one that msrp is at 46795, so your 'cost' is irrelevent when there is a 7500 dollar marketing incentive. That Dealer from what I can figure still stands to make 500. I'm off to make a purchase

good luck with your purchase if you stick to your guns you can get that car at the price you want to pay, besides ppl here in socal are getting MZ4 coupe's at less then 44k ....36K for a Z4 is not that bad.

hardly irrelevent.. when the "cost" i was talking about includes the $7500 incentive. albiet an estimation of course. even at 8% off m.s.r.p (and that doesnt show dealer cost like maco, training fee's, prep and salesmen commisson etc etc..)less $7,500 is more then $40K when looking at a $52K car. If you get the deal its a steal, im not suggesting it cant be done.. Im simply spelling it out for you so you are an informed shopper. it all depends on the market your in. They are a little more disirable where i am it appears. Good luck.
