Chrysler Crossfire Roadster
My car is in the shop and they gave me a crossfire roadster. Heres my review.
The exterrior, great looking, with the top down! With the top up its bleh! The interrior is super-cheap, plastic every where! It took me about 15 min to figure out how to change the side mirrors because its a little nob in the center console that moves side to side and them up and down, very strange I thought. Heres a picture of the knob, . Next the roof. It was a little difficult for me to figure out how to put the top down. You unlock the top and then i thought you press the button that says top down, but theres another step that i had no clue of. You had to press the roof up after you unlocked it. Maybe its not weird but i dont believe the 3 series vert had that (correct me if im wrong i never owned one, but a friend of mines mother has it and it doesnt seem that she has to do that.) With the top up its near impossible to see to your sides or behind you. The engine is a deep growl, very nice sound, and a quick little engine for that size car. 6 cyl 3.2L 215 hp 229 torque. overall i think its a nice car, but couldnt see myself driving it every day, mostly just a weekend car, but for the price tag of $32k+ its not worth it.

Yeah it's an interesting car.
What did you think of the spolier that lifts once you go over a certin MPH?

It doesnt, well it does, but not once you go over a certain MPH, you can put it up whenever you want. I think it adds character, but when you sit so low, it can be alittle hard to see behind you.

Hmm. See I looked at the car when it first came out and I could have sworn the SA told me it was over a certain MPH... whatever though. I didn't like the spoiler though. Blocked too much of the already miniscule visibility.

Maybe it does, i just got it today and theres a button in the cabin that you press to put it up, and its been up ill check later or tomarrow and let you know. Yes the spoiler kills your vision in the back, its horrible

i also have a crossfire and like very much... i did improve the suspension by adding eibachs & konis... plus spacers to complete the look.
i enjoy its rarity. oh and i pulled the fuse for the spoiler since day one. not a fan of the raised spoiler look. normally raises at 58 mph. |

the audi tt with a similar rounded rear end HAD to have the spoiler added as they were having problems with test drivers crashing at high speed due to the lift created by the rounded butt of the car
you may want to drive extra carefully at speed if you've prevented the spoiler from lifting........ |

I think the audi issue was at speeds nobody should be driving on the roads anyways, I think it was over 120 that it became an issue, and that was cornering not just driving straight. Hope I didn't come off too alarmist with the earlier post! |
