Thanks. Not much different than how things are packaged out on the i5. I was hoping there would be more interior and exterior colors.

Of course! Likewise, I was hoping it would get an option for dynamic damper control, some type of adaptive suspension, or the option of rear wheel steering.

Apparently the standard shocks on the G60 come with the same tech that the G20 3-series has with the hydraulic-stop dampers which improve compliance on smaller imperfections, Bumps and ripples on the road surface. So I’m hoping the standard shocks on the 5-series and the M-Sports package with the M-sport suspension negates the need for electronic dampening control.

Not crazy about the interior color options as well as there’s no Cognac available which I love on my G30 540i.

The new G60 feels a little meh to me as far as design, colors, and options.

- No run flats but also no option for full size spare
- is a regular sunroof standard, if you don't want the non-opening pano roof?

Yes, also noted the lack of adaptive suspension. My muted (or less than that, even) enthusiasm for the G60 continues.

I might have been willing to make the jump to an EV for the i5 M60, but I just can’t get past the inadequate range. Until there are ultra-fast chargers widely deployed, it’s just a non-starter for me.

With the Neue Klasse coming out in about 2 years, the current CLAR based BEV i4, i5, i7 will become obsolete pretty quickly. The new chassis/batteries from the Neue Klasse are supposed to make the car 33% lighter, 33% longer range, and 33% faster charging.

Maybe by then charging stations will be a lot more common and available like gas stations are.

Until then I’m going to keep my 2023 G30 540i and enjoy the ICE tradition instead of quickly racing out to buy that new “Shiny look at me look at me” BEV product.

The missing 2VV option (Adaptive Suspension Professional, from the i5 M60) is disappointing - to be fair, I guess it is also missing from the i5 eDr40.

It is possible that they will offer the 2VV (Adaptive Suspension Professional) on the 550e -- not sure if that is listed on the ordering guide for that model.

I want the 540i, but the lack of adaptive suspension and true multi-contour seats (and rear wheel steering to a lesser extent) is making me less enthusiastic. I don't need the PIH option of the 550e and its added weight.

Note: the 456 option is listed as "Multi-contour seats" on the i5 ordering guides but as "Multi-function seats" on the 540i ordering guide - I suspect they are trying to wordsmith the descriptor to avoid confusion with the true (original) multi-contour seats from the earlier models (e.g., G05, G30, etc.).

Still no 540iX shown on the US BYO configurator. However, the 530iX BYO 3D viewer uses a car with "540i" designator on the trunk. Odd.

Just give us the 540iX BYO. And Silverstone Multi Contour seats. And the other missing options.

Absence of M Adaptive suspension is very unusual. Supply chain issues?

My 2020 530ix had rear wheel steering and adaptive suspension as well as massaging seats. Disappointing that BMW deletes the extra good stuff that makes a BMW special.

The G30 models offered a lot of the G11 options - on the G60, they are making a larger gap in the options with respect to G70.

I suspect that this will backfire on BMW - a lot more people will pass on the G60 and go with the G20 instead. Why go with very similar features and higher weight?

Good point. I’m specifically referring to what was known as the dynamic handling package on the G30, which included active sway bars.

If it’s November production, that should mean people would be able to order maybe a month prior to production I believe.

We went with the LCI G20 over the 530 and it’s a great car, couldn’t imagine the extra weight of the 5 series.

Curious if you miss the i6… I have to replace a 540 at the moment and all I can find are 330 drives…
