Frozen Pure Grey vs Frozen Deep Grey
So I have a bit of a predicament. I pre-ordered an i5 M60 in Frozen Deep Grey. Supposed to be built end of the month. In all the excitement it got lost that the dealer put in an order for Frozen Pure Grey.
At first I was thinking NO WAY! I need to start over. But the more I look at the Pure Grey the more I like it. Or am I just convincing myself to like it!? So I know it’s personal preference but I was just hoping some people here could weigh in on thoughts on those two colors. I have the MSport package with the black highlights. So I kind of like the way the black pops against the lighter grey. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! |

The same thing happened to me. Luckily i caught the error and had it changed back to Deep Frozen Grey before it processed.
I personally think it looks better than the other paint options but that’s subjective. Also I think the wheel combination on this car plays a big role in which colors stand out more. The 940M looks better on Darker paint. But the 938M or 936M looks better on brighter options. |

the frozen pure grey is really nice and it will allow for nice color contrasts, especially if you ordered the executive package as the glass roof will look great because you'll actually be able to tell its a different color whereas the deep grey may not under certain lighting conditions. But even if you didn't get that package the black trims will go really well w it.

Thanks…I did go with the executive package. Wish the dealer had one to see in person.
The darker color is a more ‘menacing’ color…where I think the light color highlights the curves of the vehicle. |

Agree on the "menacing" factor. That is why I ended up going with the deep grey vs pure grey. Just wanted something darker for that bit more "mean" look. I haven't seen the pure grey in person but in some pics it will look darker in some situations, which is a good thing.

I have almost the exact same build. Same wheels. Went with the lighter wood…but now that I’m probably changing cars I may change to the dark wood. Really like it as well. But I like the silver trim better than the bronze.

Received a production number and ordered Frozen Pure Grey...love the contrast. Was heavily leaning to the Veganza sport w/shimmering? alcantara inserts...but I am digging copper brown/grey merino leather.

I ended up making a new build. Sucks that I have even longer to wait but I needed to go with what I wanted. The pure grey is nice too….but my initial build was Deep grey and that’s what I wanted. Someone will get a nice car when they pick up my old build!
Went with the dark wood and black leather. I have the white or ivory leather in my current X5 and I love the color. But the only was to get white is with the fake leather and I’m just not there yet. |

I watched a video yesterday where the reviewer said that you cannot buff out a scratch on the frozen colors and they are very noticeable. Does anyone here know if that is true?

Yes, you can not buff frozen/matte paint. Buffing smooths the paint. The frozen paint is painted to not be smooth so that it catches the light. If you go with a frozen color, you really should consider wrapping the car in a matte ppf to protect it.

What is your Status?
I have been stuck in Quality Check for about 2.5 weeks. I am scheduled week 39 but I have no idea what's taking so long to get through this stage lol
