  • Daily Driver - 1er
  • Weekend - Lotus Super Seven
  • SUV - Audi S6 Avant (hey it's an AWD station wagon - that counts, right? ; -) If I can't have that then it's the VW Touerag V-10 Diesel :-)
  • Collectible - the Kellner bodied Bugatti Royale (Chassis # 41141 - see below. You didn't say I couldn't turn around and sell it. I figure the next time this bad boy goes under the gavel it'll be a record price for an automobile. ; -)

I partially restored one as a runner a few years ago. What a character! I need to find another one...

FWIW I'd park a 1098 in the garage, too.

It was a lot of fun! Mine was RHD which was surprisingly easy to get used to. When I was finished with the engine it ran quite strong, and I was able to keep up enough on the highway that I drove it to work on occasion. What a riot that thing was. A little billy goat offroad, and full of character in a way modern vehicles often have difficulty achieving.

I've often thought about another, but I shudder at the amount of work (and garage space used) to restore one fully, which would be my ideal. I think next time I'll hopefully find one that already has a galvanized chassis, and perhaps decent suspension, to eliminate that big portion. I sorta lust after a 1970's 2-door Rangie, too, though... So who knows. With a kid on the way, it isn't going to happen anytime soon.
