After the global launch of G60 i5, BBA (BMW Brilliance Automotive) launched the China only long wheelbase i5 in July.



The front is almost identical to standard i5 but there is some golden highlight.





The rear passenger door is much longer than standard i5 but does not interfere the smart & elegant outline of 5 series. The illuminated number “5” at the Hofmeister Kink created a more luxurious outlook (I think it will be a hot modification item for future standard i5 owner).







The layout of the cockpit basically same as standard version but two-tone seat is available. The most striking feature is not just the 7 series like legroom, 7 series BMW Theater Screen with panoramic glass sunroof also appeared in the rear of long wheelbase i5.



With extraordinary luxury when compared with other sedan in the same class, long wheelbase i5 should be a big win for BMW in China.

I have been struggling with the looks of the 2024 5 series. The long wheel base 5 series, however, just nails it! To me the proportions looks soooo much better. It just looks right. I want one

Very much agree. I think painting the side skirts body color goes a long way in helping the look of the car and it feeling more visually planted. I am also anti gloss-black-everything, and agin, this goes a long way. Not saying the gold is necessarily the nest, but picking out the window line, grille details, and wheel pockets in non-black makes for a more interesting look. One thing I also noticed in China market, is that you can get the m-sport on the LCI X5 with satin silver detailing around the windows and lower air intakes. Again, I would choose this in the US if it were available.

You might as well get a 7 instead, if you really want luxury. This i5 is for someone who only wants more length. I don’t see a lot of luxury in it.
