Amazing.
i5, for me, is the most desirable EV on the planet.
It’s not huge and expensive like i7 or ix. It’s not Tesla or Kia or any of the other low-grade low-quality brands. It doesn’t look like an egg like Benz EVs. It’s just a beautiful 5 series, with an electric motor - or two. If I had to buy an EV, this would be it.

I don't know, the 5er is quite big now. They increased the size to just under 200in. New E-class is 194.5 inches.

Tesla battery and drivetrain are unmatched.

The 5 series is indeed huge.....it's 199.2 inches which is 1 inch less than the 8 series Gran Coupe, larger than a Panamera, and the same size as the AMG GT 4 door.

It's huge. It is within 1 inch of length and 0.1 inches in width as a short wheel base G11 7 Series, while having much less interior room.

A distinction without a difference.

I don't consider the Tesla a complete car.
It takes you from one point to another (with efficiency and technology), but it doesn't give you the quality and comfort that a BMW, Mercedes (and others) give you.
That's why I say that Tesla is an electric car and a BMW (i5 in this case) is a car that happens to be electric.

Subpar build quality though, and frumpy looking. Any Tesla is a hard pass for me at this point, there's too many other viable options out there.

The I5: a highway car for those who don't wish to travel far.

Well it's still a car. Like everyone else it's built to a price point with a focus on what they deem important for their customers. A Tesla with German luxury interior/exterior would probably add 15%-20% to the price. My WAG.

Well ya but judging by their sales numbers customers don't care. In any case I was responding to the comment that suggested Tesla was sub-par and lumped in with Kia.

You're right. Kia is way better.
Hyundai/Kisa know how to make a car at least - even though they're bit soulless.
Tesla don't.
