The new limo looks impressive but the proportions seem a bit ungainly (not like the previous model). Its obvious its based on a truck chassis, as rumored. I wished they pick better wheel design for that, doesn't look elegant at all.

Damn I wish I could've gone with my dad, we had two tickets. That would be freaking awesome, but second semester starts today, and I had to get moved in and stuff.

His words in chronological order. 1. I will create 1 million news jobs 2. Then it became "I will create 3 million new jobs" 3. Then it became "I will create 4.3 million new jobs" 4. Then it became "I will create or save 4.3 million jobs." No way to measure "saved" jobs. I wish him well, but the future is bleak.

This is true. He is definitely taking office at a bad time. There is a lot of hope out there as Obama has so many supporters. He has a difficult job ahead of him but I think people are expecting him to perform a miracle that won't happen as quickly as people expect... And yes, I'm sure we can agree that some of what he wants to achieve won't happen during his time. We'll see how things go. I am definitely hoping the guy pulls through and lives up to the hype.

In a time when we don't want to judge, separate, or segregate people based on the color of their skin, so many people bringing up the color of Obama's skin, not the man he is. Technically he's just as much white as he is black. Sure his skin color is a light brown, but he's just as much of a white man. And one could argue more of a white man then black, since he was raised by his white mom and white grandparents. Obama himself has even said, "I am the man I am today because of my mother." All of his big opportunities in his life and career came from white people (like the job that took him to Chicago. A white man hired him when nobody else would). He has little to nothing in common with his father. He's even labelled him a "bitter" man with many issues. It funny when I was growing up anybody who was a Mulatto wasn't accepted by the black community. They'd get comments like, "you aren't a real black person" and "you aren't black enough" Now with a man that's partially black, suddenly he's "african american" and "black". You'd be more correct to say he was the first "grey" President as mix black and white and you get grey. Or truthfully they should state it as it REALLY is, he's the first Mulatto President. When someone becomes President who has both their parents as black then that man or woman will be truly the first black or African American President! On that note, the ceremony this morning went great. The country has a new reason to be happy and hopeful! Cheers! |

It's quite obvious we have a LONG ways yet to go to realize Dr. King's dream, since everyone keeps mentioning that he is a black president.
Why not "He is an elegant, polished young speaker who previously represented Illinois"? I'm a mullato too. 3 of my grandparents immigrated from Ireland, grandpa W came from Germany. |

I am so scared for Obama. I am sure there will be at least 1 attempt on his life by a white-power American psycho.
President Obama, if you're listening, do not go to the movie theatre and do not go to Texas! |

Word. And to bring up another point, the news channels KEEP talking about him being African American and the crowds and so forth. Personally I think a large majority of the crowds are there cheering because of the MAN he is and the CHANGE for the good his political views are. It's the change from the messed up Bush administration and the HOPE of a better America that most of the people are so happy about. Clearly, for the black people it's also the color of his skin as well that they are happy and cheering for. But I wish the news media and people would STOP making it about the fact he is light browned skin and half African American (even though they are labelling him only as African American which is incorrect). It's the CHANGE and the HOPE for a better America that most are excited about. No more Bush, that's where we all win! Oh, and their are white people born in Africa too, so the term African American should not insinuate a black person. That is also incorrect. Anybody of African decent can be called African American. We don't call all Asian people Japanese American, because their are Asians born in countries other than Japan and their are non Asian people born in Japan and other Asian countries too. Let's praise the FACT we have a new leader of our country, he's a good man, with good values and has surrounded himself around good leaders with lots of experience. That will help HIM become a great leader. All of which will make our country better. ENOUGH about the color of his skin and the mislabeling of him being African American. He's a mulatto or a biracial American, period! |

There are way more pro-"black power" American people (and all the black gang terrorists) that kill black people (and others groups) than any other group. And then there are far more Hispanics that shoot each other and other blacks too. He's much more likely to be hit by a stray bullet walking down the street of some predominantly black neighborhood than he has of being assassinated by a white person in any predominantly white neighborhood in Texas. He has a lot more to worry about than getting shot by a white person. And I agree that "poet" was the absolute WORST. Aretha Franklin wasn't much better. Her voice is well past its prime. He could of picked far better people in those two regards. |

Oh and so you know, today Homeland Security was on high alert because they were tipped off that a radical group from Somalia may try to disrupt the inauguration or harm Obama. It was a group of black people from Obama's father's own continent that threatened the new biracial President's security the most. Maybe someday blacks will start respecting blacks more and not pointing the finger at whites for the cause of the biggest racism, hate, and crime they have upon themselves. |
