Much better than the MB EQS and EQE at least. In certain colors I am sure the i5 M60 will look very nice, but I wish we didn’t have to get black / dark vehicles to hide some of the bad design elements - most notably the grill with the placement of the radar.

So true lol. The new Benz are actually atrocious, the i5 just looks a bit bulbous perhaps and not super inspired

It’s always been a product focused on evolution, and if nothing else, it does look more modern

What some other bimmerpost users seem to despise about this vehicle, I'm on the opposite side. I love that it's not trying too hard, doesn't have a futuristic aesthetic, and plays it very safe. In the area I live, there are far too many EVs on the road (that's a lot of cobalt), and it's gotten to the point of being completely over saturated with the same exact styling over & over like a fever dream (you know what brand I'm talking about). The i5 is a full-electric powertrain vehicle that has a modernized classic vibe about it which my eyes would much rather look at.

Agree, as far as EVs go it’s pretty good, but the gas version is so-so by gas car standards
It’s clear to me the EV was a design priority here, much like the 7 series

Very true, the EQ models look like jellybeans. But in my opinion the 2024 E class looks a lot better than the ICE G60. It has more traditional sedan proportions.

I am at the point where I have no desire for any BMW new cars. Sure, I know and can see it's a very quality product but that is how I see it now, just as product.

No, it's just that proportions are totally arbitrary, they can change. There is no right or wrong proportions, unless you are incredibly arrogant to think that you know the "correct" proportions.

On the opposite side, I was considering buying a G30 540i, now it's totally out of the picture. It looks and feels so old after seeing this. BMW is at its best these years, numbers and critical acclaim prove that. They're totally crushing the competition like never before.
