My ISP is killing it

Plus the joy of fibre to the home.

Don't quite have that great upload speed you have and I have a bit more latency...

I get 1GB down and 100MB up at home via cable modem

My iphone on t mobile (not wifi) gets 950 down and 145 up! When I had ATT a few months back, I got 30 to 70 down and 1-5mb up! Now thats a huge difference!

Tried 1GB down from Cox and I do alot of gaming and saw no difference from 500 Mbps download speeds. ASUS RTX 4090 liquid cool for the win.

Can I join the party?

Latency is a bit higher than I'd like due to 35m of CAT6E between my primary and secondary routers, but it's still plenty fast enough.

Anyone that hates people and loves internet like me and lives away from both - if T-Mobile 5G home internet is in your area - I'd suggest you check them out. $50 per month all taxes and equipment included (with auto pay) and these numbers are legit.

I was suspicious as I lived here for decades thanking GOD we finally got up to 20 download compared to the beamed in 1.5 I survived on for the first few years I lived here. Still worth it, but damn. T-Mobile was no contract and a 2 week free trial, so I went for it. Had it at one of my places for close to 2 years now and as soon as they expanded into my other house I jumped on it here too. I am a happy camper. Over 10 times the speed with a 40% savings in monthly $? Take my money. $100 per month for both houses, great service.

I've had the cheapest tier of Fios for... 15 years? And never noticed the difference as the cheapest tier got faster (100/100 to 200/200 to 300/300).

I'd gladly pay less and get slower service. A 4k Netflix stream uses ~15mbps, so even at 100/100 I could still have 6 streams playing at the same time-- plenty for my family of 3. Sadly I'm stuck at 300/300, so 20 simultaneous 4K Netflix streams for 3 people .

Other than that, the only large bandwidth needs I have are software updates, but they happen in the background/overnight, so... who cares how long they take.

I just don't know what upside there is from more speed. Never ever have I been tempted to pay for one of the faster tiers.

This is fiber to router, then through a MoCA adapter to get the wired signal across my condo.

Wireless I can get it up to almost 800 up and down but packet loss is brutal with signal overlap in a condo building.
