Popular cars you'd never ever buy

What popular car would you never buy and why?

Jeep Wranger: Because they look awful and drive awful and look awful.

Jeeps - I'm personally not a fan
American Muscle Cars - this includes corvettes (even the new C8), mustangs, camaros, challengers, etc. I respect them for what they are, but just not my type of car. I prefer some more refinement and sophistication. Even the new C8 corvette that I rented just felt unrefined with its old school pushrod V8.
Teslas - Let's not go down this rabbit hole....
Minivans - Thank God we stopped at 2 kids, but I've told my wife I don't care if we have 6 kids, we will take 2 separate cars wherever we go instead of 1 minivan.

SUVs, trucks, Teslas, Audis, Mercs, muscle cars, etc. None satisfy my desires for being lightweight and engaging daily drivers. I will say the Camaro is a decent handling car, but still pretty numb and serious-feeling.

Jeep for sure, unless it was a Trackhawk, then I'd suffer through it.

Where I'm at it's Altima hell, millions of them, and they all want to be trucks. Nissan is a TRUCK company, not a car company, so all of their cars are actually trucks just squished own.

Pretty much any of the Domestic cars, I don't forget. I might make an exception for a C6 Z06 though.

My wife's new Highlander is so meh for a zillion sales. Keep it.

I'm also going to lose a lot of the guys here with this one, since 68% of everyone here is just biding their time, but the Cayman does nothing for me. Nothing. Maybe it's because I own an Exige.

If someone gave me a Zonda I'd sell it before ever opening the door. I consider them the Liberace of cars.

There are more, but they're repressed a bit deeper. haha

Camaro and Challenger. Had each as a rental car and couldn’t confidently see out of either. Too many damn blind spots.

He means they're gaudy. I agree. Just the font used on the gauge cluster makes me want to throw up.

Depends on your definition of popular. I'm going to answer this as a "popular cars that have an enthusiastic following that I'd never buy" rather than just a popular car...because the Altima is popular, but it isn't saying much that I wouldn't buy one of those.

For me, it's Tesla. I've driven a 3 and a Y. I don't like electric cars but don't hate them either, however the Tesla Fandom is too much.

I also particularly dislike that new Wrangler pickup truck thing, but I see a lot of them around. They're one of the ugliest vehicles on the road.

I would never buy an American car. That includes Blackwing, Corvette, etc.

They are cheaply made for the most part and not as quality as their German / Japanese competitors.

Camry, Civic, Corolla, do we see a pattern developing? As I'm approaching sixty, I've realized that I've never owned a sedan but I've leased two Grand Cherokees more than twenty years ago. If I do buy a sedan, it will likely be a 3Series.

I mean most popular cars by default includes mostly regular boring commuter cars like nissan sentras, corollas etc. So I would probably not buy MOST popular cars.

That being said I'm into cars in general. My taste in cars is like my taste in music I'll listen to almost anything. I'll narrow it down to fun sports cars. I can't see myself owning any automatic car as my fun car. I like the C8, but I just couldn't justify spending that $$ and getting an automatic. Maybe for like a track car or some day when I get older and get tired of shifting, but not right now. Other than that I think I would be open to almost anything. Some cars scare me because of reliability like Jaguars, but if that's not of concern I would totally consider buying one. Now if I could only buy one car for the rest of my life.... that would be an impossible decision.

Adding to this list:
- Pick up trucks
- Anything from Jaguar Land Rover group
- Pretty much all American cars
- Non Toyota-Racing Toyotas (They have a use-case as good reliable cars, but too boring for me even as a budget commuter).
- Maserati

Kia Soul, has to one of the ugliest vehicles ever made.

Any of the large SUVs, might as well buy a bus. They seem to always be driven by people who would have difficulty driving a civic but they are determined to drive their huge vehicle and clog up the road.
